We stumbled across the 1874 bar via Pride Rewards & later became paid members for 2 seasons. Mick was an amazing host... When he learned my Son and I were going to Qatar 2022, he told everyone and later encouraged us to get our photos submitted for use in the match day program. Then, v Wolves we arrived at the bar for Mick to greet us excited and show us how we featured in the program and made sure we got about 6 extras (no cost) for the family Great guy. Last saw him and Burnley Away. Shook our hands and said hello

Watched the whole of this with a massive smile on my face. Can only echo what everyone else says about Mick, an absolute diamond of a man who gave me and my family lasting memories of our Villa Park tour!

Like Mick, I thought it was relatively common in the 70’s to go and see Villa one week Blues the next and sometimes Albion. Remember Villa were in division 3. It was cheap and the only way to see football as it was so rarely on TV. It would be great to have a video on divided loyalties within families Villa/Blues or Villa/Albion. Remember rivalry is not all about hostility as the “MOM” song suggests.

A great watch. Mick took me and my mate Eric in the tour a few years ago when I was over from Australia. It was an incredible experience, not only the tour, but meeting Mick. Really emotional. UTV

We had a tour guide a few months ago and apart from a few bits about the older days pre 60s I knew nearly as much, I would love to be a guide and show people around as Im very outgoing and chatty, my auntys next door neighbour for 50 years was Jack watts and he was always giving me stories back in the day. ❤️

I love this channel because the balance of content is so varied , top interviews in a nice warm environment apart from the big black curtain it needs something Villa inspired. I like the fact that it’s not over produced. Matt is such a funny guy. My favourite thing is when Dan trying to have a serious chat with Mr Townley and his internet foibles. Keep it up guys

Thank you Mat Kendrick for having the time to interview Mick Dale on this podcast, that I have been following for years. I have been on a tour around at Villa Park once, with the Norway Lions a few years back. I had the pleasure of having Mick Dale as our tour guide. He was brilliant, with a lot of humour and lots of good small stories about Villa Park, players, people inside the club and so on. We spoke for a little while a few times, and he came across as a very kind and humble man. Best regards, Tor Hadrian Løvstad

Hi Dan I have a quick question for ya you might want to talk about on a future podcast. According to our 1st two home games attendance was 41,500 approx, then against Wolves it was 39,000 approx. The Wolves game might not of been a sell out but its 2,500 seats short. A friend that went to the Wolves game said there was approx 250 empty corporate seats by him, which he went and sat in for the space with his kids. My question is...are the corporate seats selling? Obviously it doesnt seem so, if not, what happens to them? Do they just stay empty or would the club release them on match day as a "seat only" without access to the corporate facilities? Is that at all possible? Its alot of lost revenue if staying empty and also affects matchday atmosphere with 2500 less supporters. Im intrigued to find out the answer to this, may John might have some insight into this? Cheers

Re the captain and talking to the ref - I’m sure if the goalie is captain they nominate an outfield player who can talk to the ref during the game

Duran is going absolute beast mode, not only did he score again but he stole the ball to create Watkins goal and also stole the ball on several other occasions in enemy territory as well

Wolves isnt a makeshift derby 😂 It just is a derby now and I think we have to accept that. They're local rivals and we play them far more than Blues and Albion nowadays. They treat it as a derby and there are areas in thr West Midlands where you're either Villa or Wolves.

are Arsenal really a level above Villa? really Ollie should have scored twice against them. spanish Tony Pulis. the amount of credit they get for scoring jammy goals and having everyone behind the ball. a cure for insomnia the games against atalanta and Man city. But yes, lets continue to shower lego head with praise.

If we have to sell for PSR isn’t Kamara the logical choice? He would be pure profit and we have depth in midfield. I also hope we don’t need to sell and Kamara is an awesome DM

Re their goal, Carlos should have played it right not into the middle, but 1/50 it looks awful soooo keep doing it - as Unai said on MOTD, “ we were 💩 “ in the first half: YEP… but football lasts for 90+, plenty of time to change, & to change it, we did, we have the tools, let’s stay patient… 💜💙🦁

In a few years if Emery moves on and we haven't won a trophy, while I will have enjoyed our good form, I would consider it a failure, ultimately. I want to see us win something. I'm pretty sure that Emery feels this way too

the mentality of the squad feels different this year. they mean business. everyone seems up for it. having gotten 4th last year has really built confidence and desire to get it again. i think the payers are already locked in and focused on getting 4th or higher this year.
