Would have been nice to see what the cabin area looks like. Very nice looking light jet, how hard is it to find parts though?

yeah that plane seems very overlooked, no doubt because of the bankruptcies and unfortunately further marred by pratt and whitney's very greedy pricing on the small engines of 911k$ each. The strength of the eclipse over phenom etc has to be the fuel economy that comes from it being half weight. so the natural step is to make a jet that has car config 4 seats that weighs less than half with appropriately smaller and drastically cheaper engines. A turbofan jet can really be quite simple and the smaller they are the easier it is for the material strength. There is huge untapped potential there. What not many people know is that the world distance record of 40000km without refueling belongs to a simple off the shelf turbofan jet engine, the williams FJ44. At 500km/h. Show me a piston cessna that can fly 80 hours at 500km/h. So jet has extreme potential that could have been realized in 1950. Because the turbofan was invented in 1936 by Frank Whittle of England.

It’s a shame that they managed this company so poorly, I remember watching them literally scrap entire assemblies while I worked there. I love seeing these videos because I probably had my hands on it at some point in its assembly.

Cool. Where was this? It had great potential but seems to me that pratt and whitney was the real problem because the little engines are priced 911k$ each now which make it hard for Eclipse to meet their original price target of 500k for the entire plane. Eclipse should have made their own engine. It's actually not that hard. It's high quality steel for the compressor side and inconel for the hot section. Pretty much exactly like a turbo for a car.

@@DanFrederiksen New Mexico. I don’t believe the engines had much to do with it, I believe the real problem was poor manufacturing processes, when I left we were scrapping almost 1/2 of an aircraft for each one that was produced. While they did create PhostrEx to pad the market a little bit, I believe the company itself didn’t take enough time to verify effective processes to reduce scrap and prevent manufacturing errors. It also didn’t help that they had break rooms where employees could take all the free drinks they wanted.

It was such a great experience to watch you prepare the aircraft. I wish I could watch second part if there is any. It's such a nice feeling to do all the checks in this kind of aiplane feels like a big airliner with one inside that can manage all the systems. Amazing my dream aircraft

With regards to other aircraft you have flown, how streamlined is the flow with the custom avionics. For instance, is pre flight 10% easier than X is flight planning easier, hard, equal, is a go around easier, harder, equal. Just wondering.
