There's nothing that is Traxxas branded any more, might as well not call it a Slash anymore, its a great car don't get me wrong though.

This is the man responsible for getting me into the RC hobby. Started with a Traxxas Slash at 14, added an interior, lights, etc; I’m now scratch-building a scale trail truck, and have plans to build a trophy truck similar to what you’ve done, though it’ll have to wait; I’m 19 now, going into college, and I now understand this message. If you’re still reading these comments, I miss your content, but thank you VERY much CyconXC for introducing me to the scale RC hobby.

I can’t believe he’s still getting comments. Shows how well of a community he has built. Had to go back because he’s the reason why I build my trophy truck.

i know your probably not gonna see or reply to this comment but where did you get the rear 4 link setup and from suspension setup from? (im thinking of trying to make a truck like yours)
@johndoe9206 ай бұрын
the rear end is made by Metal Concepts RC. They kinda don't seem to be doing Yeti stuff anymore though. I tried getting their A-Arms and rear end a while ago and wrote with them and they told me they were planning on making another production run but the Yeti stuff has zero priority and well that was 2 years ago now and so far it hasn't happened... which is a shame because it's awesome stuff

No idea why 8th-scale buggies have lower KV motors and 4s-6s when they're literally the same size and weight as this thing and this thing RIPS on just 3s.
@Drunken_Hamster8 ай бұрын
I really like the music on this one. Also, at around 300% speed playback it starts to look like full scale with no slow-motion. What frame rate did you film in/what's your slow motion percentage?
@Drunken_Hamster8 ай бұрын
Been watching almost all of your vids on these trucks and recently did some math on them and realized that you can't call these 1/10th scale, particularly in the total width dimension. A stock slash is over 11 inches wide. 11x10 is 110 inches, and the maximum width for these trucks in full-scale is 90-95 inches. Wheelbase works out to 132" if it were 10th scale, and the tires work out to 43" diameter and 17.5" width on 22" rims (technically 30" if you count the stupid SCT split-rims thingy). However, if you consider a slash to be 8th scale, everything suddenly calculates out much closer to spec, especially for the actual IRL short course truck class(Lucas oil Pro 2/Pro 4). The 4.3-ish inch tires equate to 35s, the 2.2" (looking) rims equate to 17s or 18s, the wheelbase equates to 105" (a little short, but if you extend it 1" or so you're in spec), and the 11.6" width equates to 93" wide full scale.
@Drunken_Hamster8 ай бұрын
Also, I wonder how real 2.2 wheels and tires would change it compared to the goofy SCT 2.2/3.0 split that's really just a 3.0 wheel with a fake 2.2 face.
@Drunken_Hamster8 ай бұрын
Need a third person view of this. Wanna know how it compares to a "normal" IRS SCT on a "proper" 1/10 offroad track.
@Drunken_Hamster8 ай бұрын
Don't want to be negative, just want to politely reiterate that this lean here at 0:22 is proof that the front swaybar is doing nothing. That front right is at full compression while the other side is at full droop with no counter effect from either side.
@Drunken_Hamster8 ай бұрын
My favorite thing about this aside from the obvious dedication and craftsmanship is that it's 2wd.
@Drunken_Hamster8 ай бұрын
Technically, you get more steering angle when the arm on the knuckle is shorter. Take a stick or a straw or whatever and hold one end, then move the opposite end 1-inch. Now do the same but move the middle one inch, instead. HUGE difference. Also, that front swaybar is doing absolutely nothing. You should see the opposing side move appreciably when you press one of them to full stroke. In fact, depending on the desired swaybar stiffness you should see it start to move around half-stroke.
@Drunken_Hamster8 ай бұрын
Needs a rear swaybar.
