Finally I’m building myself a new truck. It’s been almost 2 years, so this build has been long awaited. I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to take you guys behind the scenes while I break down the ins and outs of building a custom cage.
As far as measurements and dimensions, no I won't be giving out info. This is just to show you guys the build process.
Follow me on Instagram for all my recent updates / cyconxc

Sweet! I've honestly been waiting for you to do this for a while now. Glad to see a full how to. I might have to look into learning to weld so I can tackle a project like this. Thank you for the great video! I'll be watching!

THIS is why schools need vocational programs! Even if the students are more interested in "trivial" things like remote control..... Even if Cyconxc didn't pick his skills up in a class (he may or may not have, I'm not sure, just impressed)........ This is where passion can lead you. Hands down the coolest and most realistic RC truck I have ever seen!!!

I wanted to see how you started the first welds. Not starting with a half made portion. If your going to start from just a pile of rods, it would be nice to see how you started. Not showing a built lower portion then going from there.

Great work!!! I am 70% way through a (for look only) 1/10 scale Ibex Crawler frame with aluminum body panels, however I have used 6mm copper pipe and brazed it all :( I wish you posted this 3 weeks ago :) I didn't even think solid round bar :( and up until now i also didn't think an arc welder would have been much use for something as small as we are doing!!! Again amazing work really contemplating a need to make another frame like this!

I know I’m late to seeing this but my son and I have been getting into rc and having a blast I’ve always wondered if you could fabricate your own rc as a fabricator for a living it was only natural to think that lol anyway great video now I have a whole new rabbit hole to dive in. Hey not sure if you’ve discovered this yet but a skill saw with a regular framing blade cuts aluminum like butter I use a cutoff wheel only when I have too plus the dust is bad for u

What rc is this truck based off? What A arms did you use? What where axle did you use? I'm curious about all the parts you used to make this happen. Amazing work!
@Nickwillfixit
@Nickwillfixit 7 жыл бұрын
That was a shame you had to dismantle half of it. The upper tie bars need to be in from the lower arms, and put a bend in them for extra clearance. The front wheel camber is off a bit are they adjustable, looks like too much toe out, the upper arm pivots need to be moved in to get the toe adjustment correct also the front clip would be better if it was a one piece part of the chassis plate, or you will need to heavily brace it at the top, I have watched all your build uploads and the suspension tuning one's, glad to see you back as I have nearly caught up with your running ones also and the different body styles.
