Can you tell me where you got the headlight from? I have been looking for an LED headlight for quite some time with no luck.

You can hear that Norton gasping for mixture when you rev it with that single Mikuni. Idle sounds rough. Do all that beautiful work and don't even put the dual carbs on?
@origin8or7 ай бұрын
Only rough because it’s cold. Bike runs just fine on a single Mikuni, just ask Colorado Norton Works. Only purists care about the stock dual carbs. Thanks for checking it out. 🤙🏼

It's amazing that the temporary engine Bert Hopwood designed for Norton was pushed from 500 cc to 850 cc and out lasted the company that made it. Norton went broke in 1950 nobody wanted the twin because Norton was known for it's singles like the MANX. Customers didn't like the Norton Commando as many preferred the Feather Bed frames which also handles better so they offered the Mercury. The Matchless G-80 500 cc single was also made up to 1969. Great desert 🏜️ sled. They only made 7,000 bikes a year while Triumph made 40,000+ bikes a year and they decided to close down Triumph instead. How stupid could the British management be?

I never knew that history, thanks for sharing!

@@frankmarkovcijr5459 The first Norton twin was the 500cc Dominator which was introduced in 1949. The 600cc Dominator 99 came in 1955 followed by the 750cc Atlas in 1962. The first 750cc Commando was unveiled to the public in 1967 and in April of 1973 the 850 Commando was released. More than 55000 Commandos were produced between 1967 and 1977.

@@pdm2201 1 Norton first came out with a twin cylinder motorcycle everyone was a gas because Norton was the people who you went to when you wanted to buy a single cylinder motorcycle with a Banks Norton. Nobody bought twins from Norton which is why they went broke in 1950 and we're bored out by associated motorcycles. I have the book on Norton by Roy bacon.

Bloody 'ell...didn't know you had a channel. I used to have a light blue metallic 73 Norton with silver pin striping. Rear axle broke on the highway at 80 mph with the girlfriend on the back. Managed to get it safely to the side of the road. There's a reason the British bike industry failed...lol.

Marvellous bike. One question: what is the weight difference to the original?
@origin8or11 ай бұрын
Unfortunately we didn’t weigh it, but the wheels alone shave 20lbs and the swingarm and frame are also lighter than original so that gives some idea. Cheers!
