After I set the emitter shape to Rectangle, the size bounding box does not appear like in you video? if I manually adjust the size with the slider the max size is limited to 1000. I obviously need it to be higher than that. Is there another way I can make the Emitter shape bounding box to appear?

Never mind, I figured out that I can just manually input the values for the size, width, and height. Thanks anyways though.

Check your view setting in the top right corner. It’s likely off. If you need to go bigger, put it in a group and scale the group. Good luck and thanks for the comment.

@@AVUltra thanks I figured it out. turns out I needed to be using the Adjust item tool to make the emitter shape box to appear, just like in your video. I guess I missed that part in the beginning. But I actually needed to know about the view settings too, so thanks for that too!

Thank you for the kind words. When I was learning I couldn’t afford any of the lessons from other trainers. My goal with these has always been to offer the best motion training I could for free. If you would like to help me out sending a note to Apple mentioning this channel would be greatly appreciated. I’d like to recreate these again- through Apple. www.apple.com/feedback/motion/

Wow! Thank you for another Awesome tutorial! Have you ever thought about an in-depth tutorial for using Motion for animated road map routing? Animation would be fluid following roads & streets along with their curves, etc. "precisely." For example; Follow a map taking Route 66 from east to west following it in detail showing places of interest and stops along the way with video drop zones and/or pic's. I've seen similar mapping on the National Geographic Channel which was in a word, Awesome. I have looked everywhere and this is something I haven't been able to find for using Motion. With your experience with both Motion, I believe you would knock this out of the park! It would be nothing less than awesome for many I'm sure. No doubt, you would be a great teacher for this! Please give this some thought and consideration. Thanks again! Love your channel!! 👍😊

How could I make a mockup for tutorial videos like this kzbin.info/www/bejne/i5y3ZnqgqbN2oMU In Apple Motion, for Final Cut Pro?

You could probably do the whole thing in Final Cut, and build any custom animations/movements in motion as templates.

THIS IS ABSOLUTELY AWESOME! like many people here I was terrified of motion, you made is made sense, you don't waste a second of your video, everything is easy to understand (and when it's not I just rewatch the same part over and over again). I have motion 5.4.6 and head up display is in the upper right corner and called HUD, also there is no file browser, it is replaced by IMPORT button (eww)

How do I use one light on one layer, but another light on a different layer where they don't affect each other? I tried putting it in separate groups, but there is still spill over (bleed)
@AVUltra
@AVUltra Жыл бұрын
Separate layer groups but the best way would be 2 separate comps all together. Groups should do it separated by another, but since it’s 2 different mattes it would work best as 2 separate passes. I’d there was a way to run 2 copies of motion at the same time, that would solve the problem but that’s getting into the weeds.

can I change the default name "drop zone" to my own? Double clicking on the name "drop zone" or in "source media" will not allow you to change the name to your own.
@AVUltra

You can. Ultimately though the name drop one is referenced all the way down into the xml so it knows what it is. But yea you can rename it etc.

What is the process of taking your intro animation and creating a build-out (reverse)? Manually or is there a magic button :)
@AVUltra

If it’s keyframes- then select your last keyframes and right click and time reverse keyframes. If it’s a behavior, copy and reverse it.

Stanislaw, is it possible to adjust the easy in, easy out length of the behaviors? It seems practical to use them but it also seems not to be as customizable to fine tuning as the key frames.
@AVUltra
@AVUltra 2 жыл бұрын
Depends on the behavior- in some cases you can set custom, or use a custom behavior itself and define any curves inside the behavior. You can also convert behaviors to keyframes and fine tune animations further.

So I am trying to look through a keyhole and replace what's behind it. I am using the two-point method and it works okay, however, the track is not very accurate. It seems to bounce all over the place. What should I do to remedy this? Increasing the track size and search area helped, but the mask I am applying the effect to still bounces a lot. The camera starts from above the keyhole and at a sideways angle, and then goes down, revealing the keyhole. Do I need to somehow track the color behind the door and have that autogenerate a dynamic shape the size of the keyhole as it's revealed? Can I even do something like that?
@AVUltra
@AVUltra 8 ай бұрын
Be better to use a photo, and animate it with depth of field focus, and cut out behind. If you need to use tracking, bump the contrast to max to get better tracking. It works on luminance values.

Good tutorial, very informative ! Question: My problem is that when I shoot - let's say - 5 minute long video in 4K of total size of about 2GB, than I want to reduce it to send via FB Messenger, I cannot find a way to reduce the clip to the 25MB or less, the maximum size FB Messenger allows you to post. Can it be done in Compressor? Cannot figure out the settings. Thank you very much !
