My therapist studied with Ajahn Naeb many years ago. Weeks in ' solitary confinement ' in a kuti. It changed her, and then changed me. 🙏

Thank you for posting this. I will subscribe to your channel. I have already pressed the thumb up button (and I pressed it with my thumb). The Jhanas have been my new subject of study, and I can't wait to practice them. From what I have found so far, Mr. Brasington teaches the Jhanas in the most clear, direct, and accessible way. Thank you again.

You are most welcome! Leigh Brasington's approach is very clear and straight forward. If you like his style of teaching, you might want to check out his teacher Ayya Khema. She has a no bullshit approach, too. Btw, I know that Leigh Brasington is very approachable, so if you have questions about your practice, you can contact him directly. All the best to you!

This is Venerable Vipassi. I believe he lives in the South West of England now and is still a Buddhist practitioner but is no longer a Monastic.

She mentions Ajahn Maha Bua, one of the big names of the Thai Forest tradition. You will find his spiritual biography as well as some info on the Thai Forest tradition in my playlists.

It's magic to see Ajahn Brahm, Ajahn Amaro... so young, I had no idea such footage to exist, thank you so much! This come to my mind: usually, when you compare old"famous" people, politicians, writers, actors, scientists, philosophers... with his younger beings,it is evident that they've changed A LOT, they can be totally different people in thinking, views... not Ajahm Brahm and the others. Of course , impermanence, they have changed. But NOT SO MUCH you know, wiser but in a esential sense they are the same, the same minds practicing the same way in their twenties as in their seventies, the same conviction and determination...it's amazing. On the contrary of so many religious and political leaders, celebrities, historical figures, coachs... theravada monks "just" practice what they teach. They ARE what you see, no more, no less🙏 And now we can picture better the young monk Brahmavamso when he tell us his amazing stories!

What an. Incredible and inspiring story of Ven. Acharaya Mun it reads like a “Dhamma“ in itself!…and your lucid, gentle and emotively expressive reading really graces and brings it to live. Thank You So Much! 🙏🙏

At 28:50 is Ajahn Succhitto, when he was younger, it's clear he's a penny short of a full farthing. What he says is pure repetition without any authentic expression. This is a big failing of the Ajahn Chah tradition, which is odd because he was very genuine. Perhaps the western gays, layabouts, druggies and mentally ill people used buddhism to get things they couldn't get in secular world e.g. easy unchallenged sex (homosexuality was illegal in the 60s), status, and free board and lodgings. Succhitto now behaves arrogantly and enjoys a standard of life he could never have achieved with his face and issues. He's even retired and lives in NZ, all paid for by the guilliable but pious public.

Monastic rules have fallen by the wayside at Amaravati, where the surviving monks from this video now live. They have adapted rules to suit themselves, rules that had been practised for 2500 years.

Do you want to be stuck in endlessly growing desire or do you want to have a clarity? Life is extremely tempting, making one follow moods... But sudden realization that you can become aware of this process makes a change. And you feel better... You become aware of peace. Thank you Ajahn. 🙂🙏🙏🙏
