Your video gives away your ignorance as a city boy. It took me 5 years of updating my dream sheet every quarter to get out of Nellis and go to Ellsworth or Minot. I loved my time there. As for the flood my shop was the only one on base that didn't have to handle sandbags because we ran the dump trucks and other heavy equipment. We also did base snow removal and ran the sweepers on the streets and airfield. But since you was Air Force you could've shown a photo at of someone that was actually Air Force and not someone that is US Army 36 seconds into your video.

Dallas truely does have falsified history, every city in the US does, but Dallas has alot. Jack Kilby was real, I met him; I used to work at Texas Instruments in Dallas. There was a city of vacated old world buildings when John Neely Bryant (if he was real) settled there, most of the old world building have been destroyed or repuposed.. I lived there most of my life but was forced to move away to east Texas, Dallas has become a high crime immigant ghetto slum, though most of the people of east Texas are the worst people I have ever seen, at least the local neighbors are.

I'm cryinnng Thank you for saying the things NO ONE wants to admit! 😭 Just finished 6+ years here and have been ready to get out since I got here. I can understand that connecting with community is VERY important for places like this but it's just... not for me, man. So I guess, tip for anybody coming in to the base: PLEASE step out of your comfort zone (if you're an introvert) and try and connect with the people around you. Go to events in town when they happen, and really try to go outside when it's not freezing. There's a newer cool Gaming Center on base. Go to Task Force True North events (they are ususally paid for trips). Connecting with other people and having a circle of support can really make your whole time there a little less intolerable. Really. ❤

I have to clear this up. The author of this video is confusing the city of Minot w/ the AFB. The base is 50miles due north of the city cause the base is a nuclear missile launch facility (western fields). Grand Forks base is for the eastern fields. Both are targets.
@itsnotchristv Жыл бұрын
I have to clear this up, the poster is confusing something with something else. Minot is not 50 miles from the base, it's 12. Or it was when I was there, possibly shorter now due to city expansion. Not sure how you get 50 from 12, but you may have disappointed a lot of women in your life with those measurements.
@chuckcobb239211 ай бұрын
@@itsnotchristv you wish you could get women goat herder
@itsnotchristv11 ай бұрын
@@chuckcobb2392 And you wish you knew what you were talking about. It's so easy to look up that Minot AFB is not 50 miles from the city, it's closer. The base itself is not a launch facility either and Grand Forks has nothing to do with Minot other than being an AF base also. It's totally ok to admit when you're wrong.

I was stationed at Minot AFB in the early 80's. For a kid right out of high school from San Diego, this was quite the culture shock, to say the least! As you did though, I made the best of it, even though I had no idea what I was doing, per-say, and after my 4 years, got outta there, and went back to California. Um, major relief then! I've been back once, and the airport and some other things have changed, but I still wouldn't want to be there. I think you have to BE from there...know what I mean. Thanks.

I was stationed here '83 - 87' ... can't speak to today but we were not hated by the citizenry back when I was there. A few people would protest the nukes outside the gate a couple times a year but that was it. Without the commerce from the base, there would be no town. It was definitely isolated and took some getting used to ... but it wasn't as bad as this guy makes out.
