As a fellow Panthers fan, I can actually confirm things headed that direction. Lease extension was given under the condition the Panthers come up with a plan within the next 4 years on how to develop the plot Amerant Bank Arena sits on. From what I've gathered in local media, housing and hotels (probably more stuff too) will be built on parts of the existing parking lot. They actually did some upgrades to the arena in recent years, such as the HVAC and sound systems. Would also nice if they could put a solar panel-covered roof over the arena plaza. Would make experiencing the outdoor pre-game activations a lot more enjoyable if there was protection from the brutal sun. Overall I'm quite happy with ABA itself, but I agree we badly need that development to make it an everyday destination, even when there's no events at the arena.

Plux told me. Unfortunately I was in hospital care back then after I had to be taken into ICU at Anthrocon, catching a pneumonia and Flu A at the same time. Got airlifted back to Switzerland for another 2 months at my local hospital, followed by 3 weeks of rehab, which I completed mid-October, fully recovered. Hope you enjoyed your time in my country!

@@nerumikuteto Oof, that's a tough one. There's an annual fursuit bowling event called Furboliche in Brazil as well as an annual convention with FurFest Brazil near Sao Paulo. That's probably the Furry events events closest to Argentina. I'm not aware of any Furry events within Argentina.

She's such a great person. An inspiration and real pleasure to hang with, even outside fandom events. I've been attending the 2024 NHL Mascot Showdown in Toronto together with her and we had an absolute blast interacting and talking about mascots the entire weekend! She's very approachable, so eventually you'll get to meet and talk to her!

It's been a dream of me for a long time, indeed. Really hard to find out nowadays where he makes appearances - and they have become somewhat rare, but I had a source providing me with info - and it worked out! Hope you'll get to meet him eventually. A tip I can give you is to watch the Facebook pages for the Walmart Supercenters in your area. There's also the annual Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl football game in El Paso, TX, but I'm not quite sure if he actually does meet fans there. He's definitely there.

That's been custom-made for me by fursuiting.com, who do not seem to be much in business anymore. Sorry. There's many great fursuit builders out there who could make your dream costume into reality, but it's a no-go to exactly copy existing characters.

Just saw them being released on Disney Store. They're not quite my thing, at least not for that price. There's lion plushies from no-name Chinese brands (Weihai Lion Toy, Co. Ltd.) that look more realistic and are larger.

They have one in Al the Octopus, but there's no costumed version of it, rather its an inanimate object in the rafters of their arena (or at least used to be, not sure if it's still there). There is also various merchandise depicting Al, including plush toys.

Wild Wing was at the event, just not at this game. While I had some contacts into the mascot scene, we were unable to find out why he didn't make it there. Could have been a personal or costume issue, or he was simply running late. He participate in the games on the other event days and spent time mingling with the fans, actually even played street hockey with children.

The super-friendly person that serves as Bandit's handler and photografur is Colby Husky. Outstanding job of making everyone feel welcome.

Definitely do it! There's nothing more rewarding than making a child smile through the performance of a fursuit or mascot costume. We've got quite a few zoo visitors thing we're WPZ's official mascots:) Was one of my most memorable public outings!

NHL Mascot Showdown, has been part of the NHL All-Star Game weekend for the past 9 years, usually taking place in late-January/early February, hosted each year by a different NHL city. Note that the future of the Mascot Showdown is uncertain at this time. There will be no All-Star Game in 2025. The 2026 edition will be hosted by the New York Islanders at UBS Arena in Elmont, NY, shortly before the 2026 Winter Olympics. There are no suitable facilities there for an NHL Fan Fair/Mascot Showdown-type of side event and we won't know the fate of the Mascot Showdown until a couple weeks before the event.
