In 1965 in boot camp I scored Marksman on first rounds. The weapon was so worn that it rattled when abruptly shaken. Fond memory.

There's no need to buy an expensive stock. I recommend glass bedding the one you have. Some owners like to unite the gas block to the barrel. I say no. Just get the compression washer kit, it works. Once you start welding things, it's permanent, and usually something we regret. Yes, speaking from experience. A plastic stock. Yea, I said plastic.They can be bedded, but, a lot more time/work is involved. And in the end, they will still sound like plastic. Those stocks, in my experience with several rifles, have a different balance than walnut. I only have one rifle that I bedded with a plastic stock. It's a Savage, chambered in 17 HMR. Wasn't worth the effort. It shot great right out of the box, no improvement.

I think I only have one "fighting" rifle that's under 10lbs (which is a UF PLR16 with a K16I lpvo and ARX silencer) and that's because they all get a LPVO, silencer, WML (which means an arisaka pro cantilever with an 18650 to clear the can), and sling at a minimum lol. Capability > weight for me. That being said, I have gone away with lasers as IMHO, they really aren't worth using on a fighting rifle as I want to keep my light emissions low. My 104ur usually sits around the 10-11lb range when not running a clip on thermal.
@TrainLikeYouFight4 ай бұрын
10lbs is just a personal rule I try to follow. What's probably more important is keeping the rifle balanced. Most modern fighting rifles tend to be very front heavy with accessories.

300 yards with iron sights. Just wow. Only been shooting for 2 years, and I need a 24X optic to hit 100 yards LOL!. Living in the socialist city of New Yorkistan, the only .308 semi auto with detachable mag we could buy is the M1A, so Ive been looking for a while. Great video.

3-15x50 scope is what I’d get. There are lower profile mounts for them than the Springfield too. Bad ace tactical is the one I found. You’ll likely need a cheek riser too. RLO leather makes some good stuff from what I hear. Can’t wait to get one of my own at some point!

Carbon fiber, transfer seat better. And surface area dissipates. So what you are getting with a carbon fiber barrel is heat transfers quickly along the length of the barrel, and is more evenly distributed. Also, for the same weight barrel, a carbon fiber barrel has more surface area therefore it dissipates faster. I can’t speak to harmonics, but have not found the harmonics to be any different relatively speaking. All barrels have different harmonics, but I don’t know that carbon viper is better.

Good video didn't notice one thing about your trigger finger technique though. You did not reset your trigger, keep your finger on the trigger, Do some dry fire practice and get Used to resetting the trigger listen for the click getting that habit will improve your accuracy. I agree with your selection of the best stock that's the one I have on my SBR and I love it.

Put the buttstock on the ground and push down on the bipod legs. Every time I've done this, it pushed the fore end away from the barrel, so must likely if you load into the bipod you are free floating the barrel more.
