Happy was one very amazing guitarist!! It is hard to tell how many great players he influenced with his Homespun Videos and books! I am praying you are playing before the THRONE OF GOD!

Would love it if you could break down the E shuffle lick for ‘Kansas City Blues.’ I own the Oak instruction book that you and Brownie co-wrote in 1971, and it’s nowhere close to what he’s doing in a KZbin video clip of him.

I'm so glad to have met Happy back in the late 60s. Happy gave me my first break in NYC by posting a few of my transcriptions in his teaching guitar books. Happy was a modest soul. He was a complete teacher in that He taught his students much of the History of the music or artist He was teaching a student....I will sorely miss Happy....Jack Baker NJ

This is a very good Homespun lesson, I would recommend it for learning some of Mike’s music. Good value for money and easy to download and use.👍

Baruch Dayan haEmet. Thank you for the music. Your concerts every year at the Woodstock Elementary School (55 years ago?) were so wonderful; I doubt I'm the only kid from back then who remembers them. I last spoke to Jane 10 years ago when I was phone banking for a local politician - my condolences to her and your children. Play on!

If I remember correctly the bass player was from The Blues Magoos...Eric Kaz, on piano, also wrote 'Love has No Pride' and others. Woodstock NY was great during this Era, always stoked to hear, Orleans, Full Moon, Fabulous Rhinestones, Tim Hardin, Full Tilt Boogie Band were playing in Town. But it ran through Town like Wildfire when Happy and Artie were playing. Maria Muldar would sache up on stage to sing and play Fiddle as well, often Jim Rooney was with them as well...Great Era of Music. 😁👍

Great lesson, Happy. Your licks have an elegance and, as you point out, great adaptability. Great in spite of of that now -2024- disturbing sounding bit extolling social distance. Not your fault back then. Most of us were lemmings(me, too)
