Amazing - so much in here that is clearly true and much more that seems to resonate true. I want to hear more- where can I read more (in the USA). Thank you!

I have been aware of Polyvagal Theory for at least 15 years as well as completed 6 months at the Institute in addition to being trained in SSP (Safe and Sound Protocol). While this interview is precise, useful, brilliant and beneath the words as usual what was not emphasized is the mixture of states, as there is not clear cut boundaries (i.e., it varies from person) with respect to mixed combinatory affective states. The vagus is a conduit. The ventral vagus (newer parasympathetic vagus, safe and available for co-regulatory engagement) is not simply replaced under threat by sympathetic-adrenal fight/flight state or if fight/flight is not possible then metabolic shutdown, dorsal withdrawal/shutdown and/or dissociation. No, there are various admixtures and combinations within any one person (or between persons) at any given time and all need to be curiously regarded, looked at and respected. For example, some of the greatest actors, artists, poets and musicians come from extremely traumatized backgrounds and are often (throughout life) in a high sympathetic-adrenal arousal state from which they draw and utilize to create the magnificence of their particular genre, art. Prima facie it can seem paradoxical. Meaning, if they were in a more bodily state of social-emotional co-regulated parasympathetic ventral vagal calm (i.e. homeostasis) as opposed or in contrast to more persistent fight/flight defensive states of high sympathetic adrenal arousal, defensive/fight flight) the great works they produce and contribute to humanity (not all but many) throughout the ages would NOT be there. It is utilization of the spectrum of the unique combinations in each which must be more broadly appreciated, respected and embraced.

I am a long time student of Dr. Porges. This interview is brilliant, lucid and extremely healthy. I felt very safe while listening. In terms of the possible advancement of the human race beyond the current ongoing global decay and collapse, these insights are essential to the new human, able to connect with others in a helpful way.

Mr Temba Bhote, Temba Dai for me. He is like my mentor for mountaineering. This man has quite a good amount of understanding about the Himalayan weather pattern. He lead the Manaslu expedition in September 2021, and it was my success as well. He chose the perfect weather window for me. His skills and leadership are remarkable. Is Mr. Bhote your expedition leader? You are in safe hands. Thank you Mr Peter, for conducting this interview.

Beautiful interview, but if I could give some constructive criticism, I think it would elevate your interview skills, to that next level. You ask great questions. You’re extremely engaged, but you have a very strong tendency to respond and react, as if you are having a conversation with somebody, rather than interview.I think the quality would increase greatly, if you used body language, rather than vocalizing your thoughts, to what he is saying. There is a lot of distraction, with your reactions. Thank you for the great content, nonetheless 🙏

Capitalism concentrates wealth and power into a few hands. Thus it is not that beneficial to those who are enslaved in the system. The myth is that everyone can grow rich. The statistics show otherwise. The planet is also suffering from it.

Chris is a very humble person and always was. I admire him not only for his achievements in the sport, but also for his positive and calm personality. Climbings success in the last twenty years is not only based on sport achievements but also on characters. And he plays a big role in it.

So true. I lived in BCN for a year and climbed in his gym almost daily, and I never once saw him angry, annoyed, yelling at an employee (unthinkable), without the time to talk to the people... I've seen him have a session on the hangboard, a couple of ppl walk in who've never climbed, they ask him what the point is, and he stops his session and spends 15 minutes to explain it to them. At the gym open doors day, he stands outside and shakes hands with everyone going in. He is a gem. One of the nicest people I've ever met, and not just pretend nice but nice to the core. Not to mention how great the gym is, it remains my favorite bouldering gym in the whole world. And this is because he assembles an amazing crew of setters and really runs it well.
