Those turned out great!!! So glad you're feeling better. Making some sawdust always helps a person's health. 🤣 It looked very cold there. Wish I could send you some of our AZ sunshine. Try to stay warm, especially while you're recuperating. Happy New Year!

What an amazing transformation! Love how it turned out. Doesn't look at all like the original piece so you breathed new life into it. Now it will be useful again instead of sitting in a garage deteriorating. I'm going to build a media console in the spring and think I'll use your idea for the base/legs. I love that modern look. You do a great job of problem solving as you're working. Seems like that's a huge part of woodworking! BTW, I got a pack of those Crocodile Cloths you featured on your last video. Have only used a couple but I think they're going to come in so handy for a lot of things! I think your Rusty dog would be happy if Santa brought him a box of those balls he's always playing with. 😂

Great list! I agonized over getting that Amana Countersink bit even longer than you but have no regrets. It's the best I've ever used. I'll have to get some of those Crocodile wipes. I'm in AZ and haven't found anything that doesn't dry out due to our extreme temps and low humidity. I'm anxious to give them a try. I hadn't heard of them before. Will have to pick up some of those gloves too. I don't wear gloves in the shop for safety reasons but never thought of using them for sanding. That would protect my hands from getting so dry. Thanks for all the gift ideas and Merry Christmas to you and your family!!!

Thank you! It’s a good feeling when a product actually lives up to the higher price tag than the other way around right? Haha. I’m curious about the crocodile cloths in Arizona too. If nothing else I feel like they should do a better job than most. I’ve really found them useful around my workshop. Side note: I just visited Arizona in October this year and fell in love with the Sedona area. Looking forward to going back someday and exploring more! Thanks so much for watching and Merry Christmas to you as well! 😊
@SawdustmakerLoriАй бұрын
@@rustydogandco Sounds like the Crocodile Cloths would do well considering their guarantee. If not, I could spritz them with water like I've had to do when other wipes dry out. It works well but takes an extra step that isn't always convenient if I've got grimy hands. Glad you got to visit Sedona! It is a magical place for sure. Just make sure to visit when the temps aren't too hot or cold. They do get some snow in winter although it's not a lot and doesn't last long. It's gorgeous to see snow on those red rocks though!

Pro tip, after you sand any wood, have a spray bottle with water in, wipe off sanded dust, mist with water, let dry (10min.ish) then lightly sand one more time and the fibers won’t raise again

Hello Sara. In your short, I asked what the project was, and you answered. My guess, by the number of wardrobe changes, is that this took several days and making videos is not your primary job. The table looks nice to me and seems that it may be an entry way table, possibly for keys. One person that I watch is Blacktail Studio and another is Sawdust and splinters, you may like them. Have good days!

Thank you for this video! I have the same router and just got my circle cutter jig. I couldn't follow the instruction manual but your video made it all clear. What is your experience like using this router?
@rustydogandco2 ай бұрын
Thank you! I’m so glad you found the video helpful. I’ve had that particular Ryobi Plunge Router for several years now. I’ve used it quite a lot. It’s been able to do just about everything I’ve needed it to so far however I do see myself upgrading eventually. There is one issue that I’ve been having with it lately and that’s the locking piece for the plunging motion. It’s loose and won’t stay fully locked. The vibration causes it to move a little which can result in an uneven surface when routing. This has happened to me a couple of times. I might be able to replace the screw that holds it in place. That’s something I need to look into. It also could just be an issue with my particular router. But like I said it’s lasted me for several years of pretty heavy use at this point so I can’t really complain too much! 😊
@nitestrike10002 ай бұрын
@@rustydogandco Don't know if this might help you with the locking lever coming loose but this was suggested by another KZbinr by the name of quietwoodworking. This is what he said to do: " To fix the Plunge Lock Lever problem, remove the lever retaining screw, then take out the lever and use it like a wrench to tighten the Plunge Lock Screw until the plunge mechanism is locked securely. Now back off the lever just a little to loosen the lock screw and free the plunge (usually only about a 1/8 to 1/4 turn). Finally, put the Plunge Lock Lever back in the upright position and reinstall plunge lock lever retaining screw. This usually fixes the problem and the plunge should now lock down with only about 1/4 turn of the lever. Hope this helps. Thanks for the video!" Hope his suggestion helps.

Simple, effective, I like it. Curious though: what's the risk of kickbacks? Or is that why you have to have the fence at the distance from the saw as the width of the jig?
@rustydogandco3 ай бұрын
As far as I’m aware it’s low risk of kickback because you are only cutting the material that’s hanging over the edge of the jig. That’s why it’s important to set your fence the same width as the jig itself.
