Unfortunately, the part 1 link is not for the first five chapters, but is rather a recording of Terrence McKenna discussing the book. But the McKenna video is very worthwhile as an introduction to the Yates book. That video by McKenna turned me on to the Yates book. In regard to the missing pages: A pdf of the book is available on Internet Archive, and as you scroll through it you see the empty pages; not a lot, but still too many. [CORRECTION: I was wrong. Part 1 DOES have the first part of the Yates book. Terrence McKenna's lecture on alchemy using Yates' book as the basis for the lecture is very long, about four and a half hours, so I thought the entire video was Terrence McKenna, but there is only a few minutes of that. But it is very interesting as an introduction the Yates book. Here is the link to McKenna's entire lecture kzbin.info/www/bejne/qKvNo59oacZ7n7Msi=0tGEQVU9I7vvD1e9 Thanks for doing this particular title. I found the book kind of hard to read; with this audiobook, I can listen to it over and over. Hint for listeners: Pay particular attention to and try to remember the meanings of unique words such as mens, ultores, Nous, regeneration, and gnosis (there are many others). These words recur throughout the book, and if you don't remember the meaning of the word, you may not understand what he's talking about in that section where it appears.

part 1 contains the first five chapters of the book. Thanks for saying that about McKenna introduction. I also thought it was nice and crafted the video in this way.

@@MichaelKuhlman Okay. Thanks for the quick reply. As soon as I heard McKenna's voice I went no further. I had heard that lecture before; he has it posted on his channel. I got a nice kick from his reference to "you need a miracle every day" by the Grateful Dead. McKenna's got me wanting to try peyote or psilocybin.

Not sure if you are spiritual but it might be beneficial to practice it. In introspection you could be able to observe yourself from a distance. This allows you to observe that which you call your “self” is just your ego whispering in your own voice, distorting your reality in positive and negative ways.
