Thanks for the comment! I agree it's a nice lounge overall but the staff need some more support. And yes I agree, economy flights are definitely made more bearable with these lounges.

I can’t remember about signs but use the lift opposite boots, and go to level -4 You can also ask the lounge staff they will guide you.

Thank you for your comment. I totally get where you are coming from. Some of them are disappointing. However for all the bad lounges there have been a few that I have been thankful for, some of which will feature in the channel in the coming weeks. I guess it depends how many different airports you will travel to - if your regular route has poor lounges and that’s mostly what you will experience then it’s not much of a benefit. That’s interesting about Menorca, I’ll have to check that out at some point.

the weather when you arrived in london is very similar to the weather you had when you left glasgow in scotland, quite cool, grey, very grey and rainy.

Ahh interesting! Yes not having to wait in line is always going to be a winner. If we had not got the comfy seats I might have considered migrating across to the other one but our fate was sealed with the seats!

Nice video. Try the Guadalajara lounge, it's a bit hidden and the best part of that lounge is that they have their security check before entering, once you leave the lounge, you can go straight to your gate, no need to go through security again.

@@Mark.Claughton sorry I don’t understand - usually a connecting flight you book it yourself and then connect at the airport, what went wrong?

@santstravels so because BA won't book my connection because I used points for business class , if I paid cash they would have. I had this issue with Virgin, my parents paid cash so Virgin booked their connecting flight for them, while they told me and my wife no because we used points. If I book my own connection, which I now have, if BA delay or change my my flight times which they do now and again, I will lose all my money as I'll miss my connecting flight

@@Mark.Claughton if your separately booked connection is with BA or a One World airline they will look after you if you miss your connection due to BA being late, even if it's on a separate ticket. From MEX I'm guessing you're using Aeromexico which is part of Skyteam not OW, so even if you paid cash there is no way of booking that as one trip with BA. Virgin on the other hand are in Skyteam so that's why they were able to do it. For doing this route with BA I'd go to DFW then use American to keep it in OW, or just allow plenty of time for you connection in MEX.

With the UK plat card, as long as you as the card holder are named in the rental agreement, you are covered. The only downside is that in the event of a claim you have to pay for the damage, and then AMEX reimburse you.

Oh wow! You have had some amazing flights!! Yes you should get some good views on the way in (sit on the left if you can). You're going to have an amazing time. Make sure you go straight for the Concorde room at LHR, as that is the best lounge for you. One the way home you can enjoy the Concorde breakfast at the arrivals lounge, or if you are connecting the Concorde Room lounge again.

@@santstravels Oh we always pitch up as early as possible. We always go First these days and have done so for the last 20 years. We run a company, so push as much expense through Amex as possible, so we can easily build up around 500K Avios pa. With the companion voucher we get 2 or 3 First returns a year depending on how far we go. The Concorde Room is fab, that's why we pitch up early. Even if our flight is at 10pm we are in there at 10am!! The Arrivals Concorde Room is ok but nowhere near as chi chi. We've allocated seats 2A & 2K ( 787-9 ) both ways at the moment to Santiago so should see some sights. Thank God for Avios eh? Actually, the last trip we took to New York by Concorde in Feb 2002 we used Avios and a voucher!! Amex was NOT impressed I bet. Best part was the BA system cod's up and gave us 20K Avios each, each way!!!! so we got 80K Avios back. Was well pleased.

@@maxthelab8457 Now, that's a good redepmtion on Concorde! They are excellent seats on the SCL flight. Be aware seat belts sign will go on approx. 1 hour before landing due to turbulence from the Andes, so you'll have to decide which one of you gets the better views! So I have a question for you - when you fly First from LHR, is there a limit to how early you can arrive at the airport to enjoy the lounge? We are going in January to New York in F for the first time and really want to make the most of it and arrive 4-5 hours before the flight. Do you think that will be OK?

For sure! The Concorde Room opens well early - We have been in there at 7.30am before ( for a late eve flight to KL!) and it looked like it had been open ages at that point, plenty of folks tucking in or drinking at the bar. The 'Wing' is where you check in for First and that is always open too. Basically whatever time your flight is - get there as early as you can. Grab a fab breakfast, lounge about for a couple of hours, grab a fab lunch, hit the bar, grab afternoon tea, more action at the bar, grab a shower, early dinner, then make your way to the B or C gates. Time flies in there, so no amount of time is too much. Don't forget to try the Espresso Martini which is a recent thing in there. No LPGS anymore sadly...................

@@maxthelab8457 oh wow that's awesome, I wasn't sure if we would be turned away if we arrived too early before hour departure time, but it sounds like they don't care when you arrive! Our flight is at 4.30pm so we will try get there late morning to catch the breakfast AND lunch.
