Between this guy and Tom Kim…..it makes me wonder why I spend so much time practicing golf swing instead of golf……what is weird is I have as much if not more lag than either of them especially Kim….time to learn to score and work on short game and shots…..

I always focus on rotating through the shot, getting to my lead side, and never trying to help the ball up in the air by hanging back or scooping.

I think this is a misconception about the golf swing. The last two lessons I’ve had my instructor told me both times that I actually need to look up QUICKER, which goes against the common advice to “keep your head down”. He said it is like that in 80%+ of the people he teaches, aka he’s basically never having to correct students who look up too quickly. Keeping your head down too long limits your ability to rotate properly through impact, meaning you lose power, and can even lead to a push fade as you’re likely not squaring the club at impact properly.

Has oldtime lower body setup...along of angle in right leg in backswing..like Nicklaus. His coach says his lower body gets lazy, so the contuous angle of right leg allows that/helps. Right foot doesn't slip till after impact. Good video for me to learn from. I stop&start so many times that I have 3 or 4 different swings that each could shoot in 70s/less if I'd just choose one/stick with it. Neat/thx(for another swing).

Weekend warrior, low-mid 80s - back after a 14 year hiatus from golf. Guy I played with in a foursome the other day was like "has anyone ever told you your swing is just like Scotty Scheffler's?" I was like "no - who's that?". He laughed and told me. I was embarrassed. And here I am.

I think it's great to consider all those possibilities with a putt, but how much time does it really take. I start counting slowly 1-10, probably taking about 15 seconds to hit a putt. It's a show on course management so on the green you should mention time constraints. Though explanations tale a lot of time.

He doesn’t lag the club, he doesn’t keep his right elbow bent on the downswing as we see being taught?? He doesn’t keep his feet grounded?? He basically blows all the teaching methods today out of the water 😂😂😂 he doesn’t even throw his left hip back 😂😂 every method is that taught today, he doesn’t use, I am done

Very unique swing. He gets his weight so much front in downswing, with rather steep backswing, i guess sliding trailfoot back helps him not to come over the top. All in all he's obviously very much the dream mix of power and feel. Just very good combo. But again, so unique almost impossible to copy. It's a special talent.

Great video guys :) When i try this I lose my spine axis resulting in getting closer to the ball and early extension - my feeling get to the right side and push from inside of foot to left and then post up pushing up and back. Seems right but can't change the pattern?
@TDA_golf
@TDA_golf 2 ай бұрын
Thanks! If your shaft is steep in transition, your body will always want to stand up to compensate, which then leads to less rotation through the ball. OR if your club face is too open coming down, you’ll also want to stand up to extend your arms in an attempt to shut the face. All of these things in the video can work well when shaft and face are in good positions 👍🏼

I dont know where you play but if you would try to play a flop shot in Spain during the summer with your 12 bounce wedge you would duff/thin every shot, specially if you will keep the weight on your left foot.On a hard lie your club will bounce and it will expose the leading edge that will hit the ball. You need instead a very low bounce wedge to play in South Europe durung the summer.High bounce wedges for flop shots are ok only in soggy conditions during the winter in North of Europe
@TDA_golf
@TDA_golf 2 ай бұрын
Well, I personally wouldn’t duff or thin every shot since I know how to manipulate the bounce to make it work. But I understand what you mean. There’s no question that firm, tight lies need less bounce. And vice versa. Thankfully they make plenty of bounce/grind options to choose from. High bounce is also not only good in soggy conditions. I understand that if your goal is to only hit flop shots and no other shots, then lowest amount of bounce would be necessary on firm, tight conditions. But most golfers are hitting a lot of other shots around the green (like bunker shots) that they may benefit from more of less bounce. If you travel, or if your climate changes a lot during the year, I always recommend having 2 lob wedges, low bounce and mid-high bounce. Then you can play anytime, anywhere.

Hey, thanks for watching! The way we play and think about shots can easily save golfers tons of shots. As you get better and better, your aim can slowly get closer and closer to your target. But even still, pros don’t aim at every pin. You might see them hit a ball left or right of the pin by 10-20 feet and you think they pulled it or pushed it, when in reality they probably hit it exactly where they wanted to.
