The best teaching on how to use the ground force. Very clear instructions, thank you. I am taking lessons from a pro here in Cincinnati weekly for over 6 months, and the man, cannot articulate how to get me to do the ground force, except from belittling, hollering , rolling his eyes, smartly commenting how many times more before I can understand. I finally came up to him, took off my gloves, told him my piece. Thank you again for a clear and doable instructions

Subscribed. I have been working on ground force reaction and am getting closer. My pro told me that I was missing the 2nd part of the swing which is the part where I sit down like Ben hogan. The back swing and forward swing are fine. But I have been looking for an explanation of this second part. Your video helps alot

I have been swinging completely with my upper body and just taking the lower body along for the ride. Your in-depth explanation of feet, knees, hips in the backswing to transition to downswing and through was super helpful. In just a few practice swings it feels powerful and compact. Thumbs up and subscribed!

Great video. One question I was told to press into the ground with my right foot kinda like screw it clockwise on backswing this helps my knees to remain flexed and stop my left knee buckling . Dan Whittaker corkscrew video

When we apply a force into the ground in a rotational direction, that is called torque. That’s a great feeling to have in the downswing to help with lower body rotation. And actually the same topic I just posted about on my Instagram page (@tda_golf) last week 👍🏼

Good video. During the downswing if you do it properly you must feel that your right foot is turning backward (slippery ground drill) For the push off it seems that the trail leg is also active (jump drill ) thanks a lot bruno

@TDA_golf 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Yeah what you’re explaining sounds fairly similar to what I’m showing here. 👌🏼
@blitzd13
@blitzd13 2 жыл бұрын
One of the best explanations I have seen...Do you use a foot to push back into the right back heel, if so which one? Or would you suggest to use the glutes to turn into the back right heel?
@TDA_golf
@TDA_golf 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! If you’re wanting to get into the trail heel in the backswing then you’ll use a combo of lead foot helping push pressure over to right side and the ball of trail foot helping push pressure towards the heel.

Excellent summary of sequence. Question. No one ever seems to complete the ground to ball contact. Either ground sequence or ball contact, not both. So, I find when I get one thing right the other goes wrong. In your description, please show how to maintain spine angle and bottom of arch while pushing up on the lead leg. That is the point where I seem to "come out of it".
@TDA_golf
@TDA_golf 3 ай бұрын
The biggest things to understand through impact are lower body rotation and upper body side bend. If you’re pushing the lead leg properly, it should be clearing your lead hip out of the way (rotation). Then, to stay in the shot and not “come out of it”, we need side bend on our trail side. This side bend is what keeps our upper body from popping up out of the shot. BUT, if you have not rotated well through the downswing, that side bend just turns into hanging back, and becomes fat shots or blocks/hooks. Great point, and I’ll try to make a video of that coming up 👍🏼

Great video but I still struggle with that transition and clearing hips without much left hip depth on downswing…not easy to overcome
@TDA_golf
@TDA_golf 2 жыл бұрын
I hear ya. Hard to say why that is without seeing it in action. Many drills can be done to help overcome it as long as we know the whole story of your swing.

So everyone has been using the lawn mower pull analogy lately. However, your arms really don’t do that motion in the takeaway,only the legs. In that analogy your right elbow is flying , how about do that but with the arm swing rotation ,the correct way too.
@TDA_golf
@TDA_golf 3 жыл бұрын
You’re correct, we don’t swing the arms in that way. But as you said, it’s just an analogy to help players see and feel trail side extension in the backswing. It does help a lot of players get a better understanding. But if it doesn’t help you or other players, and if you or someone else has a specific question about the arms I’m happy to answer it. This video is not about the arms however.
