had that therm heater as my first a few years ago they are very good and reliable but need to wipe them down carefully from algae build up every couple of months to help them last.. have you ever moved o to real plants and if so how did they do? thanks

Mate I’m not the smartest person don’t even know if you will reply but will this be ok to use if I was flushing a plant would this be powerful enough to remove all the excess water from the overflow tray 🤷‍♂️

You are supposed to close intake first then few seconds later close outlet, and you will not got over flow, so don't put the filter down if you don't know how to operate it, especially if you are giving reviews. Bad review.

I put a plastic bottle that had a 1 1/4 in hole, put shrimp pellet in it and my hard to catch Siamese algae eater swam in . Then put one hand over the hole and lifted him right out . Your drinking hole was too small. Otherwise that method works. I’ve done the same thing with a good sized net. Don’t feed the fish for 24 to 48 hours prior to using this trapping, rather than chasing. They are less stressed and lots of my fish went into the net. I just prop the net in a corner where it won’t get stuck on plants when lifting out of the tank. Lights out walk away and come back there’s always fish in both.

Just ordered 2 after this video. They're a perfect size and set up for colony breeding some guppies.

The filter is great imo BUT to remove floaters ive always had to upgrade the pump to the next level above it then it works so well and its all so clean and modular (dont block the hole that you did lol). All i think it needs is a sliding cover over the grates, as alot of muck can come out of it when you remove media.

What would you recommend doing with aquasoil. I know it releases ammonia for the first few days, not sure what order to do things now.

Mine never leaks and neither would yours if you used it correctly. Shut off the inlet valve, wait a few seconds then shut off the outlet valve and then unplug. Not a drop of water comes out if you do this. The prime is the best I’ve ever used.

After using one of these i swapped out all my EHEIMS and an FX for ULTRAMAX 2000,have not looked back .Super quite no noise at all ,nearly half the price. some users had a leak issue, i remove ,lubricate and reseat both o rings with a small rounded tool ,( small spoon handle) when first setting up .Hope your still happy with yours 👍

I think I may be wrong, but the perhaps purpose of the slow flowing section at the bottom is to allow for some denitrifying bacteria in low oxygen areas to grow to reduce nitrates levels 🤔

hello 🙂I have 2 of these models. the 1000 and the 2000 and I like them a lot. Exceptional built. I have to tell you that the problem you had with the gasket was in no way a norm for this filter. For sure was a mistake from the factory. Mine arrived in perfect condition, the gaskets were in place in the proper position, no twisting, no problems(to be honest that was the first aspect I checked when I opened up the filters, because I was curious to see what kind of gasket they used...). Now, about the problem you mentioned with the priming lever... As much as I know that lever had some kind of apendix that you need to unblock when you first using that lever... I don't know how to explain, but I had the Aquael Ultra900 model(and I sell it and bought the Ultramax 1000 because it has the built in prefilter) and I remember that I had the same problem but I managed to solve it with the aid of a flat head screwdriver... Very gently I use it to unblock the lever and after that I never had any kind of problems with it... 🙂 In fact, if you have the user manual of the filter with the drawings of the compents, read it with much attention and you'll notice that they are mentioning the posibility that the priming lever can be stuck in some situations and they advice you there how to unblock it(look for the drawings in the fig.5C)... cheers !

Nice, healthy looking planted tank there. You mentioned nerite snails, and I am looking into getting some. My local fish store tells me they are escape artists, and despite their efforts, they find nerite snails outside the tanks on several occasions. Have you noticed the same?

Do you have to remove them once they become visible at the bottom of the tank or should you leave them there?

Can I put this on my Juwel 240? Would I have to cut holes in the lid flap?

Did the cabinet hold? It look like a "kallax" from Ikea which has a maximum load 30kg by. I'm suprised you placed 125l aquarium on it. :D

You might need to go to the Gym.🙂 The primer is stiff at the start. Of course you might have got a faulty unit.

I've bought this tank for my kid. The one issue I have with it and I hate it for it is that the filter pump has this little nozzle wchich creates a lot of current inside the fish tank.

To prevent overflow when opening, shut intake while still plugged in, wait 10 seconds, unplug, then shut output before opening clips. It reduces the built-up pressure, and makes significantly less mess. As for primer, had to squeeze the clips to get it to pop up. Once popped up, it works wonders. Thanks for your review!

Read the instructions and you will not going to have leaking problem in opening anymore . It never happened to me .

I have few questions hopefully could have some advice from you, thanks in advance. 1) I got aquarium Ammonia and beneficial Bacteria bottle - Stability. Do I put them together on day 1 ? 2) do I need to do water change every day in the initial weeks, even if the Ammonia and Nitrates level are low ? Or I change water only when those arise to high level ?
