I have that one, too. It is not so quiet as I thought, but it works very well.

These are my favorite brand and model of canister filter. The pro II models are good as well but you have to service the O rings on them every couple years. Thanks for the video.

FishPie ,thanks for your reply,so it's only the initial filling that's a pain, I'm going to get this as an extra filter to go with my Juwel Rio 125 internal filter to provide some extra flow. Love big dogs,proud owner of a Dogue de Bordeaux,my drooling best friend. Thanks for your help!

Does this fit inside the Ikea unit like the Ecco Pro 130 does? Im currently trying to decide which to get and ideally want a canister what will get hidden out the way inside my ikea unit

Yea they both do, I’d go for the 150 without a doubt

Tell me please is this moderate aeration behind you covers the aquarium needs? Asking because soon I'll have to move an aquarium into a bedroom, looking for all available methods to diminish the noises (canister, air-pump, air-bubbles). Thank you.

Yea if you ha e good surface movement you won’t need to run air on a normally stocked aquarium

What tank is that?? Roma 125?? Did the tube fit ok in the back?? Or did you have to do any lid modifications??
@FishPieTV7 жыл бұрын
The Roma has cut outs you can remove to fit the tubes in ;) Its on the back of the tank, so you don't touch the actual lid covers
@fisharefriends5987 жыл бұрын
FishPie cut outs removed in new Roma 125 LED ... hack saw will have to come out to the lids... I just got a reply from fluval too and they confirmed..

Anyone able to briefly explain the advantages of a bottom-top flow in a filter vs top-down (mechanical filtration placed at the top)?
@FishPieTV6 жыл бұрын
I’d say there’s really no difference as long as you get the flow the right way round (filter media after the filter pads). If you ever run a filter the other way you get a back log of grime on your media 👍
@alb90226 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the response. I think my question was poorly phrased. What I'm trying to get at is that some units are designed with the intent of placing the mechanical filtration's tray at the bottom rather than at the top, which would make regular cleaning more tedious, as you'd need to pull out all the trays. Is there a difference in performance, reliability or price in this type of setup?
@FishPieTV6 жыл бұрын
Ahh I see now, I'm using the Eheim Pro4 which are at the higher end of the market, at the moment and it has a filter pad area at the top of the filter, but the next stage is right at the bottom, so if you put fine filter pad in, you've got to put it right down there and take the lot out. To be honest though when you're replacing pads (I usually change the filter floss out every two weeks) its easy enough to give the filter media a rinse in clean(ish) tank water and get the whole thing out. It is a pain. I think it mainly depends on brand and models, Fluval have sideways ones (104 upwards) and outside to inside ones (FX). The cheapest well rated ones are the All Pond Solutions filters they start bottom to the top
@alb90226 жыл бұрын
Yeah, kinda interesting why the designs differ that much. Still wondering how each design affects noise and performance though.

@@FishPieTV thank you for your answer. I want the best for my Jewel Lido 120 aquarium.I am a bit concern though about overfiltering. I heard this word in a KZbin video. I know little about this. Is it possible to over filter?
@FishPieTV3 жыл бұрын
You can’t have too much filtration, you can just have too much flow which for some species of fish this tires them out and they get sick. Most filter you can adjust the flow output or distribute it using spray bars etc

Can the hoses be place straight up or even pointing toward the front of the filter?
@FishPieTV6 жыл бұрын

Ah ok thanks, thinking of ways to cram this beneath our cabinet. Currently using an eheim pickup 160, hoping the experience 150 will be good for our future tropical tank which is 90L, what you reckon?
@FishPieTV6 жыл бұрын
It’ll be perfect for a 90, I ran it on a 125 and actually kept the water really clear and was enough flow to keep dirt off the substrate. I had mine so it was right at the back of the space, the hoses clip back on really easily so you can get it back on with hardly any access. That way the outlet and inlet went straight up the back of the cabinet
@peterwood26336 жыл бұрын
Great to know thanks. We have a Fluval Roma 90 with the Fluval cabinet, problem is the shelf in the cabinet. Do you mind taking a height measurement? I.e what is actually the highest point is it the round prominence near the front top of the filter or is it the mid point on the curve of the top of the filter? The specs say 290mm I think. Cheers

hi, I'd like to know what you put in the 2nd little bag. The first is filled with carbon. What is in the 2nd, I didnt understand. If you write back I could google it. Thank you!
@Tasos_2 жыл бұрын
If i noticed right you had the chemical filtration before your biological. If this is the case then you are doing it wrong. The chemical filtration should always be the last thing the water will touch inside your canister filter..
@FishPieTV2 жыл бұрын
I probably stuffed some carbon where I could fit it in, ideally it’s the last stage 👍 but these days I don’t run chemical at all
