Great video! Bought a 2012 turner 5 spot with a 26" fox 32 and have had a hard time finding any info online.

Great work with this. Clear and concise with helpful comments. For example, placing a rag over the tool when releasing the air pressure, using a flat-face 26 mm socket, loosening the damper BEFORE removing the lowers, removing oil from dampener rod, soaking foam seals in a bag, guiding dampener rod back in lowers, reinstallation and adjustment of compression knob. I'm very thankful for this video.

I have a new (for me 2018) and will do the tests (but with vacuumeters I can get from a friend, wll try to add two slowjets in the tubing just for slow the fluctuations and help that it wont suck the transmission fluid in the tubes. Ups, really old video you might have sold the bike, but thanks for the video!

Hey do you work in the medical field, like surgery? I'm only asking because I see the blue bowl that comes in the packs and I see the blue wrap on your table that is used to wrap instrument sets. Great upload by the way

Hey for the what size socket wrench did you used for taking off the original front flashers? I’m trying to replace mine but can’t seem to figure out the right sizing
@YoDooDSup
@YoDooDSup Жыл бұрын
This is what I do. I take a handful of open ended mm wrench’s and try them all. Example, if I have a 9,10,12 and 13. The 10 is JUST too small and the 12 is JUST too big. It’s an 11. Some would call this trial and error.

The special black screw on the non-drive side (@10:00min in the video) sometimes get loosen by its own on my Mavic CrossMax SX wheels. This is when I drive the bike on a very rocky downhill trails. The wheel may have a slack as high as 2-3mm when you push/pull the tire to left/right. I found this a bad design flaw and not amused about it 😞I fixed this problem by designing a 3D-printed 2.60mm ABS spacer ring between the end-cap and the special black screw. In case this special black-screw gets loosen again, the spacer will block - hopefully it does not become worse... If you guys suffer such a problem, you should measure the gap with a digital caliper and build a spacer like that.

Hi there. I service my fork yesterday as it was bottoming out just by sitting on it. But after servicing it, the still bottoming out. Not as easy as before, but is not rigid enough to go ride. Have you ever service the air shaft or damper shaft? Also after filling g the 160ml of oil from the top, you don't add any from the bottom? Thanks for you video, it helped me service my fork with confidence.

Did you ever figure it out? I just bought a bike with these forks and they bottom out when I sit on it. Ordered the seals but nothing for the talas side of it.
@cristian1780
@cristian1780 Жыл бұрын
@zachfetter5710 Yes I did, it is a small oring that is inside the wet side of fork. Seal is transparent, so it break in pcs or crack easily. You need to get it out and replaced it. That will take care of it. It cause the oil to bypass, so the fork bottoms out. McMaster-carr p/n: 1295N223. 5mm ID X 2.0mm wide o-ring. Since you are there, but a set of new wiper seals from fox or Jensen, and swap them. There is no seal kit available for this fork, not even from FOX. Hope this solve your issue.

@@cristian1780 Thank you very much, same issue. I wish i have pictures. So right side of the fork and I need to change oil and disasamble the fork tube to do it right ? Thank
@cristian1780
@cristian1780 6 ай бұрын
@pliopov yes, disassemble the fork completely and remove the wet side piston, the tiny seal is in there (most likely cracked in pieces), get some pick tool to get it out, clean the groove, and slide in the new oring. Clean your fork tubes while you are there and replace the wipers. Fresh oil in, and you should be good to go. Pump air to it and set your sag.

I know this is a few years late to comment but I have a 2007 fox talas RLC. I moved the travel adjust knob and now it only gets 100mm travel no matter which location I put it in. Do you know if there is a simple fix for this by any chance?

Hi there is this damper a open bath damper R or RL. I have jt got a set in very good condition owner says they are 2009 fox talas 150mm and the decals was removed by owner so I can't tell for tht I did ask but they says they took forks to shop for servicing and don't know. I can see by the fox oil guide online tht the fox talas open bath R or RL tool fox red but 2010fox talas RL or RLC took the green fox. I have took the air out the chamber screwd damper side off at top compressed it to see inside but it was to dark to see dwn but when I pushed the damper slowly dwn to screw back on I saw tht the oil was come out the inside top part underneath o ring at the damper rod does this mean its a open bath damper. Or is it jt the FIT cartridge tht are sealed on fox fork. I don't know alot about fox fork yet but am reading on this matter for a week now and no luck yet thanks for any help kind regards Richard

excellent brakedown! however i think you confused rebound and compression stacks in the end. (it would make more sense from counting the holes as you have 0 1 2 as the compression adjustment and 0 1 2 3 4 5 for the rebound)

Hey @jrsandiego, thanks for the vid. On the air side, have you messed with the IFP chamber air pressure? The service manual says you need a specific tool (Fox P/N: 803-00-127), but I’m wondering if you can do it without.
