Great video. Lots of detail in each buy. I have used TEMU several times this past year & found a few item as unused junk, however most items work well (As a garage woodworker). If I were to use an item daily, I would buy with quality in mind.

I order from Banggood since 2020 . 4 out of 5 times I am very satisfied. Only two times purchases really disappointed me because of poor quality. First time, Banggood refused any settlement as the product was as described - and description did not say anything about quality. Second time, Banggood refunded me. Descriptions for my purchases were always accurate yet eventually not always complete :) . One thing to consider, especially when you purchase products with "consumables" as saw blades: it may be hard to get spare parts. So, if you hope to get spare parts, maybe focus on some "local" brand. But things like rulers, clamps, fences, miters, etc. all have been bought from Banggood and are of very good quality. Also, maybe not buy the cheapest version at Banggood, since also they have differences in quality reflecting in the price.

I'd do a clear and/or white corrugated roof so you can fold up two 4x8 foot sheets for transportation. Then for the walls you can do a roll up tarp, ideally a clear and opaque layer so you can still see while driving in poor weather and have privacy when needed. I would do the same for the doors, but give them three layers an opaque, a clear and a mesh layer so you can have ventilation with bug protection at the front and back. Love the modular design!

Banggood is similar to Amazon, a big mail order conglomerate that's, "HiT -n- Miss" on the quality side but prices are generally decent. I've bought a Watch Tool for taking backs off to change batteries & a Jewelry tester to detect fake diamonds/stones plus a digital jeweler's scale that adds up what you have from 6kt - 24kt gold. The scale was very nice but the Watch Tool was kinda flimsy & felt cheap. The stone tester works so I guess it good. All of these were inexpensive so I can't complain. Also I bought some fishing items ; hooks, swivels, ect.... the hooks were not very sharp but everything was cheap, money wise and the quality but they're are like Amazon so you can get some good quality things but sending stuff back to China might be more of a hassle than it's worth? Overall they were middle of the road but all was in one place. Thanks for your review. I had forgot about these guys but now I'm gonna LQQK again. peace

Thanks for sharing your experience! You have a good point when it comes to returns. I am not sure how it works with Banggood. It sounds like a lot of hassle for a low-cost product. I do have experience with temu, and so far, they have been excellent. They just sent me my money back instead of requesting a return. They let me keep the products that I wasn't happy with without even asking what the issue was. Maybe Banggood deals the same way with returns/refunds? Cheers!

I used to use several saws like the one they sent you, based on your review I'd pick up that saw b/c the price of a good one is going to be higher. There are a bunch of these conglomerate sales outlets around the globe which fits into their One World Ideology(1 Gov/Religion/Bank/ect) but I digress. When Walmart his N. America it caused millions of those small Mom -n- Pop businesses to close down. Anyhoo, it's nice to get a heads up on a product. Chat soon, I trust.

About those round sanding discs there are some moments to consider. Firstly the sandpaper is not as good as a quality one that costs more. But, more important than this is that some of them are just cut from large sheet. So, many of the disks have no gritt number. That makes them almost useless.
@adrianwoodworm
@adrianwoodworm 4 күн бұрын
Thanks for adding your input! I agree with what you said. You can solve the missing grit by keeping them organized and sperate them right from the beginning. The quality of the sandpaper is not the best indeed, but it works well enough for me.

Good comparison video and excellent commentary at the end. I have no issue buying Chinese-made products. Most Western brands are made in China, so why not buy Chinese brands? If the price and quality are right, it makes sense. The hand planes I buy (here in Australia) are from an Australian brand but are made in China. I buy them instead of going to the source manufacturer because of warranty support. If it has a problem I can just go back to the shop I bought it at instead of having to ship it back to China. Just watch the Chinese car manufacturers over the next 5-10 years. They will end up just as good quality as anything made in the US, Japan or Korea, but at a better price point. They're not there yet, but they will be. The main concern I have about the likes of Temu, Banggood and AliExpress is where a product is clearly an identical copy of a different brand, effectively theft of the IP. That's not OK.
@adrianwoodworm
@adrianwoodworm 4 күн бұрын
I agree with everything you said. We live in a world where we don't really have a choice anymore. We are so dependent on Chinese products that it would be nearly impossible to avoid them if you would try. I just read an article about Chinese car manufacturers ramping up the production and quality. I think your comment was spot on. Just give them another 5-10 years, and we will have another big player on the field. Also, I totally agree that the theft of patents and designs is not acceptable on any level. It goes way beyond being competitive in a global market. It simply crosses a line. Unfortunately, it is very hard to identify as a consumer. I couldn't tell you if the design of any of the reviewed tools was stolen or not, for example. Thank you for sharing your thoughts! Cheers!

@@adrianwoodworm i did start tonight on my Hull template but had a couple more questions. i did bottom at 48" i did first slope from bottom 18" and 6-1/2" from square of the bottom. 2nd run worked out to be 19" to the square edge with the final piece being 6" vertical. if at all possible you could let me know what each section length is i can get it from there. Also it looks like the cross beams are 12" or 16" apart. I'm going to be building 24'long x 8' wide. Thanks for the information. Cant wait to see yours on the water.
@adrianwoodworm
@adrianwoodworm 4 күн бұрын
@tomc8988 I wish I could give you exact numbers, but I genuinely don't remember. It has been years, and I never wrote anything down. I know for sure the bottom is 48 inches, and the vertical part is 6 inches. I think I tried to make the two sections in between the same length, probably something in the neighborhood of 19 inches? I don't have access to them anymore, or I would just meassure them. I can't measure from the outside since the thickness of the plywood and the epoxy change the numbers. The distance between the ribs varies, depending on where I needed support for the wall, for example. I think it was between 12-16 inches. There is one thing I would do differently. I chose 3/4 thickness for the boards used to make the cross sections. It worked, and it is stable enough. But it was a pain in the butt to hit them later on with a screw. If I didn't pre-drill to prevent splitting and made sure to be in a perfect 90° with my drill bit, I ran in trouble real quick. I chose 3/4 to save as much weight as possible. In hindsight, it wasn't worth the hassle. If I would do it again, I would choose something between 1-1 1/2 inch to make live a lot easier. Hope this still helps, Cheers!

Hard work can not be avoided.... OR it can but if you're the poor guy that must repair it, why would you put yourself thru it when you had the chance to do it right? So you gotta do the prep-work between every step & do it right if you want the work to last longer then you'll be alive? Thanks for this video & you've got so much I want to take a look at, so little time? PMF is a concept I've never heard of but now that I think about it, old homes used wood on the walls(planks) & then the older homes used some type of linen kinda like what you are speaking about? We owned a Century Home that looked like "Gone with the Wind" but we did some upgrades & discovered a fabric used on the walls. I bet that's where this idea might've come from? Yeah, we owned an antique restoration company & we bought an old "Gone with the Wind" 100+ yr old place & my room was in the slave quarters out back,,,, lol, but inside the house we updated the bathrooms & a set of bedrooms. All of the rooms had wood planks where the wallboard are in newer homes but over that wood was a fabric. The home is close to 140yrs old today but when I saw you using fabric it reminded me of those walls because we left it on some of them b/c it was so attached.... let that be a good omen to your work. peace

@adrianwoodworm

It's just the framing and plywood on the exterior, without anything on it for the walls and the ceiling. The bottom has multiple coats of polyurethane varnish on it, just to seal the wood in case of a leak. I did fill voids and cracks with epoxy+silica filler, and then I just filled the cavities with foam and covered everything with thin panels. All of it is constructed in a way so the framing and paneling can "breathe" on the inside. The exterior is covered with waterproof PMF, which is, at the same time, a vapor barrier. Therefore, letting it breathe on the outside, like in traditional construction in North America, was not an option.
