Wonderful video. You guys did a great job. Carowinds is our home park, we live in suburban Charlotte about 30 minutes away. We and our 4 adult kids (28-33) and 2 granddaughters (5/8) have annual passes, have had them for years. Go there about 1-3 times per week. Can't want to see how Six Flags does the all park passes so we can experience a lot of the other parks in the chain now that the merger is over. What's is your home park?
@HomeMeetsRoad13 күн бұрын
Awesome! Carowinds is amazing! We are a bit behind on videos. We just finished our sixth park on this trip, and Carowinds is at the top. Spoiler alert: We are not doing any of the Six Flags on this trip due to the timing and cost of passes. We hope to do a Six Flags trip next year, and yes, we are interested to see how the merge will affect annual passes. We are full-time RVers, so our only home is the one we tow. We winter in Orlando, so Universal and Disney are our home parks.

Very close 2nd at Carowinds is Copperhead Strike. So fun. But I'm 59 and know my body won't be able to take it for an indefinite number of years, lol. But it's great. My favorite coaster at any park is Hagrids Motorbikes at Islands of Adventure. Just can't say enough about it.

Its easy as pie to Register your car in South Dakota. You dont need any service to do it for you. Plus, Dakota Post, YBA, and others are extremely high costs for just a PMB. You can find places much cheaper, and then do the work yourself. I did it, and it is simple.

We just came back from a 4 night stay here and it seems a lot has changed in 3 years from when this was filmed. Although the beach and boardwalk are still beautiful as can be appreciated in this video, the RV sites seem to have become overrun with long-term guests that have now set up and taken over the place. The RV area is taken up by old, run-down RVs with uncaring "residents" that treat the place as their own personal junk yard. There's nothing worse than being packed like sardines in narrow spaces between campers on either side of you with their stuff sprawled all over the place without any regard or respect for the fact that someone has now arrived to occupy the space they had been using as their own all along. I would not recommend this place nor will I ever return.

Revolution Ply from Lowe’s. The one I used has a mold proof primer on one side (the inside). If money isn’t a concern, I recommend 3M E-Panel which is a thin layer of PVC between aluminum but that stuff is pricey.

Have to politely disagree.....first, you are calling a travel trailer an RV, and as you said, the manufacturers do a poor quality job.....I've seen them first hand getting warranty work done, even before being sold at the dealership.... If you can draw up a plan, you can build it, if you have fabrication and welding skills, you have no excuse not to try.... I actually have a design for an aerodynamic class A motorhome that not only utilizes space, but has a removable modular drive train....definitely decades ahead of it's time

I got a question I rebuilt my 38 foot camper only 1/2 cuz of a leak when I bought it but to the question I live in Ohio an we full time rv an this was our 1st winter is that foam enough to keep warm inside because I used insulation an have a lot of sweating going on do you think just thick foam be enough to keep warm an not ruin stuff with the sweating
@HomeMeetsRoad5 ай бұрын
To be completely honest. If I were to do it over again, I would spray foam. The only reason I say that is that we did have sweating, but not where the insulation was; we had it where the ‘struts’ were, so there was no insulation. It was primarily on the ceiling, the support struts, not the wood. Spray foam would get those areas and prevent sweating.

20+year full timer here. I’ve lived in 3 motorhomes. no rv is flawless. all need aftermarket ‘engineering’ to solves problems that ‘should’ have been done during manufacturing. the real hope is that you get a couch with good bones and are handy enough to handle the small stuff. this isn’t a negative video. it’s just honest. which is refreshing. there is so much money on the line and the few youtube videos i have found with you talking about your 392MB have been the most informative. to a discerning buyer this stuff is gold. the quality on rvs have been going the wrong direction. videos like this help a certain type of buyer make a more informed decision. my parents just bought a 2022 392MB after a disastrous couple years in a brand new montana that had massive structural issues. youtube needs MORE product videos like this i would LOVE to see more videos of your ingenuity in modifying this 5ver. i’ve seen a walk through of some your mods on someone else’s channel. your logic at solving rv problems is top tier.
@HomeMeetsRoad5 ай бұрын
Thank you, and I agree with you 100%! We have been off social media for over a year and, at this time, have no plans on returning. Since this video, most of the RV has been remodeled. New kitchen and new bedrooms. The only thing left is the bathroom. Most of the electrical has been completely redone. The entire water system has been redone from scratch. There is not a single original water line in sight. Maybe one day, Five2Go will do another video on this rig, but I don’t foresee myself picking up a camera again unless it’s for family videos. Social media just took the fun out of sharing. Never wanted to be negative, only wanted to be truthful. Cheers! -Dan

Hi there! South Dakota residency worked great for us... for a couple years... Just this year, though, South Dakota has been preventing companies from paying unemployment taxes to South Dakota for people that only hold a PMB in South Dakota (and no sticks & bricks residence). South Dakota says the unemployment tax needs to be paid to the state where the employee did the work OR where the company that employed them is headquartered. That doesn't sound so bad. However, no one seems to know how to pay unemployment tax to a state without having the employee also pay income tax to that state. Have you heard anything about this... found a workaround... etc? I've contacted the South Dakota board of labor, Americas Mailbox, other mailing services, my accountant in South Dakota, an accounting firm that specialized in State and Local Income Tax (SALT), my South Dakota state representatives, and a South Dakota state senator. Most of these folks knew that unemployment tax could no longer be paid to South Dakota. Some of them knew why... apparently SB 139 ( mylrc.sdlegislature.gov/api/Documents/Amendment/250596.pdf ) somehow caused them to start enforcing existing law 61-1-3 ( sdlegislature.gov/Statutes/61-1-3 ), law 61-1-26 ( sdlegislature.gov/Statutes/61-1-26 ), and law 61-1-27 ( sdlegislature.gov/Statutes/61-1-27 ). Unfortunately, no one knew how to pay unemployment tax to a state without also paying state income tax to that state... My current plan is to just have my company file the unemployment tax to their headquartered state of Oregon. As far as my company can tell, this can only be done by filing with my residence address declared in their state... so, they'll declare their headquarter address as my residence... and this should trigger an income tax bill to be sent to me... and then I'll push back on that income tax bill and just hope for the best.
