Three and Half Months? Sorry, I don't buy it. I used to commute to and from NYC, running up and down subway stairs in all types of weather and never came close to destroying even a basic pair of Rockports to the extent you wrecked those.

@@Incomudro1963 I walk over 10,000 steps a day through cemeteries, parking lots, in water, mud, etc. They didn’t last 4 months. With that being said, the other pairs I bought of JM, they held up ten times better than these crappy shoes. They shouldn’t even have Johnston Murphy labels on them. Total crap.

J&M is just a licensed name at this point. Just like all the electronics brands your daddy loved. All just cheap crap with "the name you know." J&M was made in Nashville until the factory closed several years ago.

Just a word of warning. Unfortunately, though they have sent me plenty of great shoes in the past, Undandy has recently become a scam company. People are not receiving their orders or refunds, and this has been going on for the last couple of years. Pains me to say it, but it seems they're now a company to stay well away from.

They are a very cheaply made shoe. Many if not most are glued on construction with fake stitches to simulate blake . If you want a quick cheat buy to throw away quick they might qualify BUT they are too (not that cheap) for that. To buy quick and dispose, buy a $50.00 Thom McAn . It will do the job and it will not hurt when they fall apart .

I have the exact same captoe shoe in the Brown color. Johnson and Murphy is a shell of what it used to be but I gave these shoes a chance because I bought it for the same discounted price. I like them very much and can tell that these particular shoes are of quality. I take care of my shoes with conditioners, creams, wax, and shoe trees. They continue to be in great shape after several wears and I am pleasantly Surprised that the creasing has been minimal. Believe it or not I have shoes that have cost double and even close to 3 times as much with much greater creasing. I don't think you can find these anymore but if you can definitely pick them up.

Use shoe trees and frequently condition the leather with COACH leather lotion. Use a shoe horn. Small investments in caring for your shoe will extend the life and make your shoes look like you are well kept.

Bradley Abel one of my coworkers has J&M shoes and they look nothing like these as well.. The first week of wear, the leather became very porous and wouldn’t take a very good shine.. These (this particular pair) are the worst shoe I’ve ever purchased..
@alexandrasboo13845 жыл бұрын
I have 2 pairs of J&Ms & they look nothing like this & I have had them for about a year & a half now & they still look in great condition. What outlet did you buy these from? Cause the associate should’ve recommended the leather cleaner/protecter, leather shine, leather balm, there is really a lot of shoe care you can use to prevent the shoes from getting beat up like that.. did you use shoe trees? Those are also helpful as well, it’s keeps the shoes in shape & prevents creases. Just cause these pair of shoes didn’t work out for you doesn’t mean the rest of them won’t. They have came out with other shoes similar to those that have bottom leather soles, J&M sell shoes that are 100% leather, their shoes aren’t like Cole Han or Aldo that sell fake synthetic leather, now those shoes are trash! I would give another pair a shot, I promise you won’t be disappointed, if anything come visit me at my store & I’ll take care of you.

Alexandra’s Boo I’m trying another pair, but a little more higher end this time. I used trees, shoe cream, etc. This grade of shoe was terrible and for a first time J&M wearer, I honestly couldn’t believe they would attach their name to this shoe.

What do you recommend besides johnston and murphy shoes that are within the same budget/style and that are more durable and of good quality?
@motormount90005 жыл бұрын
Florsheim, Clark, Rockport, Bostonian. They’re all about the same quality as these. I bought those J&M shoes at an outlet, they were very inexpensive. The leather is not top grain, the soles are rubber and glued, very low end. I’m not sure which Johnston’s you’re referring to, but if it’s the higher quality in the $250/$400 range, I can think of several much more stylish shoes to buy in that price range. Wolf & Shepard, Oscar William, Undandy, Thomas Bird, Jack Erwin, M.gemi, Myrqvist, to name a few. Goodyear, Blake, dovetail heels, quality leather, hand stitched uppers, some are partially bespoke. Best of all, made in Spain, Portugal, Italy, Etc..

I have several pair of J&M shoes, and none of them looking like that. Those shoes, in that condition, are far beyond their life span. I mean, why would you even post a review on worn out shoes of any brand? J&M has been in business since 1850. If you prefer a different brand, I think they will still survive.
@motormount90005 жыл бұрын
Did you just see the title and then look at a screen shot? I explained all of this in the video. They wore prematurely, the leather is subpar, the stitching failed after 10 wears, they are truly the worst shoes I have ever purchased. I wish Genesco Inc all the best as they continue to market a mass produced Chinese made shoe branded with the Johnston and Murphy name.
