@ you can play new hip hop. You can even play certain styles of hip hop. Not to mention there’s more than just clubs. Making your own events and playing music you and the crowd vibe with. Saying all hip hop now is negative just shows lack discography for the genre.

Most DJs who make a living off DJing don't play music they necessarily like.....Whether it's a club, a wedding, or birthday party...you are playing to what the crowd likes, not you. I'm 20 yrs deep, a lot of the genres I hated back in the day I've grown to appreciate. Even with new shit I continually try to grow and eventually" like" it if it works... In learning them this way i can be more informed on what they do offer. The same way we can appreciate diversity in music, we can learn and appreciate the diversity in different programs.
