There is some similar sculptures in Chatsworth House, Derbyshire. A Veiled Vestal Virgin is incredible. Maybe they are copies, Very beautiful.

What an impact this vision had on me, a 16 sophomore on a high school trip visiting Italy in 1974. I only wish I had been there in early 1972 when you could see it up close and maybe even touch it. I must have bought all they had of the actual little miniature statue to the color prints for sale. I had the prints framed and still hang in my study. What was I doing when I was 23, not this for sure.
