I compared it with an Squier 40th Stratocaster and it is a little thinner. To me not skinny, but thin.

Yeah I saw the green on the website too and was thinking more of a neon lime green, damn, now i am thinking of sending my green strat back for the purple esquire but that one has laurel fretboard, somehow I feel i am gonna end up, i dont know I am upset thought
@fritzsguitarsКүн бұрын
I had luck with my laurel fretboard on the purple telecaster/esquire... quite dark color after applying lemon oil. For maintanence dark fretboards easier to handle to me.
@tankdarla637Күн бұрын
not really a Tele bridge, just the standard hardtail top loader bridge
@fritzsguitarsКүн бұрын
Yes, it is not the best bridge and even the saddles are not easy to replace cause most standard saddles will not allow the mounting of the strings. I took a nail polish file and rounded the sharp edges :)
@tankdarla637Күн бұрын
Sweet! I just ordered a lime green one a couple days ago for $140 straight from Fender, I thought it was a new limited sonic hardtail single pickup strat that just came out. But it turns out only the green color is new and limited, I almost ordered pink, glad i didn't. I did not even notice it doesn't have a skunk stripe, until now, that kinda sucks I just saw hardtail real Stratocaster single humbucker in killer colors and ordered the green one , for $140 i can deal with no skunk stripe, i hope
@tankdarla637Күн бұрын
I just checked the fender website where i ordered mine from, all the pics in all colors have skunk stripes, Makes sense , because I would not have ordered it if I knew it had no skunk stripe. So I am going to contact Fender and work something out, unless somehow i get one with the skunk stripe... dang it
@fritzsguitarsКүн бұрын
It is just the look finally and has no impact to playability and sound. Whish you good luck with yours, sometimes the necks showing nice wood grain.
@tankdarla637Күн бұрын
@@fritzsguitars I know but it just a Fender maple fretboard neck just doesn't seem right without the stripe, nothing against it, just I know it would bother me. It seems it might only be the green ones because on reviews of the other colors, all the ones I could find have the stripe. Yours is the first and only green review I can find. Maybe because the green ones are a new batch, who knows. You are absolutely right though, If I take it out and play it and she sings and plays great, I would keep it. But if its just good I know I would end up selling it so I might as well return it or see if they will swap it for the green esquire and some swag for the struggle...lol who knows, maybe different batches got different necks, thank you for replying
@tankdarla637Күн бұрын
also the reviews for the first runs of them all rave about the necks and freat and even set up, seems the newer reviews of them are not as good, not bad, but more negatives, the early reviews are mostly all very positive

I am a fan of the R-446, but I got another one and was not satisfied. The guitar body shape was not as comfortable as on my old one. From pickup point the HBZ actives are fun for metal. You need to try both if you can and send back the one which is not good to you. Otherwise R-446

nice, if fender puts these on sale for $140 like they did the single pickup hardtail Strat I will get one, I just ordered the lime green Strat straight from Fender for $140 last night. You can actually get another 10% off that if you subscribe to text alerts or something. I want the Esquire for country picking though, so if that bucker dont twang I would get a humbucker that coil splits and does a really good single coil sound too, but i am pretty sure i can make one of those twang even with the stock non-splitting humbucker

I have 6 HB CSTs. I've upgraded all of them and had them set up at a luthier. They are great guitars. The frets are stainless steel, and mine have always been perfectly fine. I replaced the wraparound bridge with a Schaller Signum wraparound and the tuners with locking tuners on the paradise flame like this one. I replaced the pickups with Seymour Duncan JB & Jazz. These are absolutely wonderful guitars.
@fritzsguitarsКүн бұрын
Wow thus are massive updates which will double the price of the guitar. I do also consider to change the pickups like you have done, just some no name AlNiCo5 products with similar output then yours. Schaller bridge looking nice too, need to find something inexpensive in this style. Thanks for ypur feedback!

My Squier Sonic Strat HT H needed some work before it played good to me. Fretboard edge was quite sharp as well as sharp fret ends. Check my description for more details. Now for me it is a good playable guitar, compared to standard stratocaster, the body is a little thinner and there I feel a slight different while playing. Most important despite the low weight it is not neck heavy :). The sound of the pickup might be not for everyone, I already changed them.

With TE-62 I had good expierence, only the neck pickup I changed to an cheap amazon Fleor. TE-69 the bridge pickup to me sounded also not that good and it is a chunky Tele... around 4kg... if you do not mind... go for it. CST-24 I had several and pickup sound was not convincing and often they showed bad fret work / fret buzzing. I still have one CST and will try to change pickups.

TE-52 and TE-69 are both on the heavier side approx 4 kg. In this case take the one which looks better to you. Playability will be comparable on both. TE-62 has less weight around 3,4 kg but not the nice natural color ;-)

Got this today and returning it tomorrow, sorry , I wanted to like this but , I love the look , but it had sharp edges on every single fret hurt my hand to go up and down on it , and then the humbucker sounded thin and shrill almost like a single coil . Just felt and sounded worse than 160$ asmuse or donners , in fact those guitars are leagues better , the only cool thing about this guitar is the finish , I guess if you wanted to mod it but man I had the roughest neck I ever played highly disappointed. More so in the sound of the pickup very very weak and shrill , I'm playing it through a fender mustang Lt 25 .

You like to compare Squier Telecaster with PRS SE or do you like to compare with Harley Benton CST-24? In any case for all Squier 40th Anniversary I can tell you, you will need a lot of time and models to find a good one, production quality is not good for that price :-). I selected 4 guitars and ended up to keep 1 and this is even not the Telecaster, I got the 40th Vintage Surf Green Stratocaster and still I am not 100% convinced.
