Bro, you'll get it. God is king, the Bible even if you don't have any religion, really leads you to a positive life. An upbringing life, life without envy, jealousy, gloat. It's something to throw your guilt and trust on. I don't feel bad you aren't a Christian, I feel bad for your lack of understanding and change. If things aren't working for you, change is possible. But the fact you don't even try, and instead dispute, I hope your eyes open. It's not about religion, it's about just trusting in someone other than yourself, and being able to blame. That sounds horrible, but I'm 21, and thought just like you. And one day, I said "fuck it" and tried following the Bible. And life has been beautiful. It's not about religion, it's about investing in a lifestyle that is holy and positive. It's about moving on, and the Bible may be an outlier to the sick world we live in, but it's something to rely on.

idk if its proper form, but i can do barre chords easily when i really push my thumb into the back of the neck. im basically pinching my thumb and index finger together through the neck if that makes sense, just like a capo.

Good luck with your journey my guy. I agree that playing the songs you like is a good way to learning chords and picking. I also recommend trying to listen to simple songs and go through the fret till you figure it out one by one. Imagine my happiness when I learned misirlou from pulp fiction by myself by running on the low E string. Im also a returning guitar player with 2months on now (just like you lmao) and now im going through stairway to heaven. Its been hell, and everytime the pain threshold becomes unbearable I look at my index(the song uses a lot of index barres) and repeat loud "i dont respond to pain" "pain is not part of the equation" "there are things much worse than pain" like a maniac lmao.
