Hello!
@ModArch
@ModArch Жыл бұрын
I'm trying to replicate this on an Octatrack and find myself having some issues: The Subharmonicon only accepts my Octa's triggers (on Midi channel 1) when I turn off sending transpobrt messages on the Octa and deactivate Play on the Sub. Otherwise it eats the Octa's triggers and only reacts to the internal sequencer's triggers. But then I can't use the internal sequencers for modulation, since the rhythm generators need to be triggered by the Subharmonicon's internal clock and that seems to be overridden when Play is turned off... any idea how to tackle this?
@joshuamorganmusic
@joshuamorganmusic Жыл бұрын
Hmmm, that’s a good question. I have an OT as well and that thing seems to have a mind of it’s own! I’ll try and replicate this setup using the OT and make a vid asap!
@ModArch
@ModArch Жыл бұрын
@@joshuamorganmusic Thank you kindly! If you have time to look into another issue that seems to be OT-specific: I also tried to set the sub osc pitches using CC messages. Mapping CC to the destinations works fine and I can change the pitch during playback by turning the knob on the OT. If I however try to parameter lock the changes, I'm not getting an change in sub osc pitch at all, even though I can see the locked CC value when I hold down the trig key. I read that there might be an issue with the CC messages arriving after the Note message and getting "lost". If you could try reproducing this as well, I'd be eternally grateful. The only workaround according to forum posts seem to be lock trigs or trigless trigs one step before the actual note change. That's a huge inconvenience and would probably be a dealbreaker for me in terms of using the OT for controlling the Subharmonicon. :( Anyway, thank you so much for these tutorials!
@joshuamorganmusic
@joshuamorganmusic Жыл бұрын
@@ModArch I know about that issue well with the digitone/SubH setup! The Sub has a weird way of dealing with midi and lately I’ve been using CV as it’s waaaaay easier but doesn’t have near the amount of control (being able to control the envelopes is something I truly miss with the ‘new’ method). With the digitone (and probably OT) if I just wanted to change CC’s I’d hafta use the trigless trig otherwise it ignores/resets the value. I’ll dig into both issues using the OT and post a vid soon. I’m sure there’s a few ppl with the same/similar issue. Thanks for the idea fam🤘
