This is definitely Paul Kossoff playing, and incredibly so. If you listen to any of the Black Cat Bones recordings from 1967-68 by Frank Perry's father you can hear that Koss was, at the time, very much into Chicago blues, like Clapton. His playing was very different from Free, where he had to do a lot more chord work and rhythm support. With BCB he did lots of long blues jams, as he had a rhythm guitarist behind him. He was being mentored / tutored by Peter Green around 1967-8 and they both had 1959-60 Gibson Les Paul Standard sunburst guitars. This recording dates from a Marquee club gig in late 1967 or early 1968 and was done by drummer Frank Perry's father. Kossoff left in February 1968 and formed Free in April 1968. Kossoff was not replaced in BCB by any guitarists until after he left. See my detailed blog on his time with BCB here: nothingtooseahear.blogspot.com/2024/07/paul-kossoff-black-cat-bones-1966-68.html

I had this on one side of a vinyl record. Funny thing is I had weird memories of hearing snippets when I was a little kid, about 8-9. I lived near a college campus in Maine from 1968-72, so maybe, maybe. I never did mention it to my friend, Ayako "Junebug" Hendrix But, her Japanese cookies were a nice afternoon treat in 1992. Miss you, Junebug! So I bought a little strat today, nice!🎸
