Watching your video, I realized why I haven't been able to chatter....because I'm LEFT HANDED AND MY WHEEL GOES CLOCKWISE. You are the first person to explain that chattering goes against the turn of the wheel. THANK YOU!!!!

Where were you when i first started playing in mud. This is a cracking video, your explaining how and why your doing each step and showing it as you do it. This is an ideal 'how to' video. once back in class will go back to basics and follow your lead. Thankyou

Rewet your hands or use a sponge that'll hold more water. You'll have a lot of water on your wheel when first beginning which will lessen some over time. But ultimately it's the water that keeps the friction down - the slip mud that's made from this can be useful too.

This explains it so well. I took my first wheel throwing class and my instructor couldve been more helpful. The technique she gave us was just one, I struggled with it, she couldve explained how to position ourselves, what was giving me the issue with pulling the clay, but even when I asked her if there was another technique she just tells me theres other techniques and didnt bother to show me another technique even though during the whole hour I was struggling with pulling 🙄🤦🏻‍♀️

Which way should the wheel be turning if your right handed? I have all the steps down up until the pulling. My finger nics it or it starts to spread out wide and flops. Help?
