The fact that our soldiers were issued unlined metal scabbards kept their swords from being sharp as they could be. Britain had rhe same problem. You do find some antiques (usually officers examples) with liners to fix this problem but most were indeed not very good at cutting. Without that liner even if one put an edge on their saber, as soon as one sheathed & unsheathed again the edge would be knocked off. Now when it comes to the UK & their Raj it was quite a bit more common for their soldiersto use wood lined scabbards like the Indian Warriors did b/c of how often they needed the cut against those particular opponents.

It's super assassin looking like a sicari knife or something that's the vibe I get from it anyway. I think Fairburn had a similar curved knife and it was called the Cobra or something. I'm crazy about it because it looks OSS too. And there's the fact that you made it concealed. I think you can reach into the subclavian artery and heart with absolutely no problem and I'm pretty sure that was the purpose of curved Pitchfork tines unless those were to get into the brain stem, I can't tell you, perhaps the curve was for concealed carry alone but the OSS had a habit of adopting these curved style blades and puncture tools. Since you're getting into the habit of stabbing step it up a notch with a couple punches and rip with that bad boy dude take a milk jug out or something. They say that like a Karambit your knuckles should stop before the tip. I don't think it really matters because curved blades do what they need to do. Scallywag tactical has their mdv or whatever and it's meant to be a tendon Ripper but curved blades naturally do that function alone. Ed Calderon has his paring knife ect. This tool right here will several tendon in an arm and turn it into a limp noodle on the bad guy. Then floppy mcflopertin is going to stop the attack.

I got one for you to look into because it's driving me crazy the Gerber MK2 and it's Offset you see the commies overthrew everybody cool after Vietnam and bi7ched and complained that the knife was too scary. The offset was meant for a concealed carry system this is right where you thrive bro. Bring back them double edged daggers with a sick offset. I believe in you.

So, even in a totally justifiable self defense situation, where you could legally shoot someone, what is a DA going to do to you if you cave in sombody's skull with a tomahawk?
@wingardwearables7 күн бұрын
Depends on the DA. Also a tomahawk does not have to target the brain. The entire body is vulnerable. A chop to the forearm or spike tear to the hamstrings-both can incapacitate a threat.

As always one of the twelve. Fascinating interaction with Lynn tompson. As a fan of both of your products I think they fulfill different uses and completely different philosophies of use. I edc a vaquero grande (when legal) and I think it’s a great companion to your back ripper. I also own half a dozen CS tomahawks some modified some not. They work completely differently. They hit harder and chop more than yours. However, I will never in a million years be able to move one with the speed and dexterity of yours. As someone who is only 5’5” and competed all my life at 150lbs the lighter weight and movement is noticeable. Different tool for a different job. I don’t think even Lynn Tompson edc’s a tomahawk. I will say, having trained with his style first there is quite a learning curve when switching over. Great video, keep it up. Some of us never minded the cats BTW.

I own and have carried a number of Cold Steel folders, and even a couple of compact fixed blades. Definitely a fan of CS’s product offerings. And I am glad they offered tomahawks-I went into it knowing they take varying degrees of work to be functional as an implement you can carry on the trail, etc. But not everyone gets a tomahawk to take on the trail, much less for practical everyday carry. If someone wants to own a heavier tomahawk to keep in the car, or a bedside implement that’s better than a baseball bat, or just chucking it in the backyard, why not?
@foxcombatives10 күн бұрын
@@wingardwearables I use some of my CS hawks as dedicated throwing hawks. I have 3 targets in my backyard. I don’t throw my more expensive hawks. Yours and one other company I can’t bring myself to throw. I know you’ve demonstrated it I just can’t bring myself to do it. Frankly anything over $150 I’ll still carry and use but not throw.

Thanks for the story, it's the closest I'll get to Blade Show without spending money on gas. So happy I could support a small business that deserves it. The DickPick I ordered got here a week ago, and I've been carrying and using it everyday. Separating nailed boards, removing staples, picking at broken glass, and untying so many knots. My number one use though, and don't laugh now, is saving my fingernails when opening my cat's canned food. 10/10 would Wingard Wearable again.

Thank you for the comment-it’s always wonderful to read how these tools are being used. And yeah, we do canned cat food here-so I’ve used the Quill or the DickPick for exactly that purpose from time to time.
