There’s a number of interesting videos on KZbin about Blade Show from an attendee’s perspective, walking up to tables and interacting with exhibitors. Here’s a video from ‪@ONeillOutdoors‬ when he came by our table-it’s at the 1:05:12 mark. This is the product line walk thru I was giving all day long.
• Blade Show 2024 - Satu...
But I haven’t seen many videos from the exhibitor/maker’s perspective.
It goes without saying that table top shows provide opportunity to meet existing and new customers, and also all the attendees are what make these shows possible. We especially enjoy these face-to-face interactions, not only with attendees-also our customers because we love all our customers-you make this business possible. But this is a business, so this video covers some of our perspective in preparing and experiencing our first go at Blade Show.
We all have finite time and energy-Blade Show absorbed a LOT of that. So when you go to table top shows like Blade Show-no matter how small the table-I guarantee you that whoever is standing behind the table has been spending weeks-possibly months-preparing for this event, and it is never certain if “the juice is worth the squeeze”-nor can success be purely measured in terms of sales. Blade Show is a unique, memory-making experience with intangible benefits and interesting people.
I’ve linked to a few other folks that were manning tables and booths in the Baller Room. Check them out below:

Thanks for the story, it's the closest I'll get to Blade Show without spending money on gas. So happy I could support a small business that deserves it. The DickPick I ordered got here a week ago, and I've been carrying and using it everyday. Separating nailed boards, removing staples, picking at broken glass, and untying so many knots. My number one use though, and don't laugh now, is saving my fingernails when opening my cat's canned food. 10/10 would Wingard Wearable again.

Thank you for the comment-it’s always wonderful to read how these tools are being used. And yeah, we do canned cat food here-so I’ve used the Quill or the DickPick for exactly that purpose from time to time.

Thank you for the comment! “How did I get here” is a complicated story. Will need to address that in a video sometime in the future. Really appreciate your kind words

As always one of the twelve. Fascinating interaction with Lynn tompson. As a fan of both of your products I think they fulfill different uses and completely different philosophies of use. I edc a vaquero grande (when legal) and I think it’s a great companion to your back ripper. I also own half a dozen CS tomahawks some modified some not. They work completely differently. They hit harder and chop more than yours. However, I will never in a million years be able to move one with the speed and dexterity of yours. As someone who is only 5’5” and competed all my life at 150lbs the lighter weight and movement is noticeable. Different tool for a different job. I don’t think even Lynn Tompson edc’s a tomahawk. I will say, having trained with his style first there is quite a learning curve when switching over. Great video, keep it up. Some of us never minded the cats BTW.

I own and have carried a number of Cold Steel folders, and even a couple of compact fixed blades. Definitely a fan of CS’s product offerings. And I am glad they offered tomahawks-I went into it knowing they take varying degrees of work to be functional as an implement you can carry on the trail, etc. But not everyone gets a tomahawk to take on the trail, much less for practical everyday carry. If someone wants to own a heavier tomahawk to keep in the car, or a bedside implement that’s better than a baseball bat, or just chucking it in the backyard, why not?

@@wingardwearables I use some of my CS hawks as dedicated throwing hawks. I have 3 targets in my backyard. I don’t throw my more expensive hawks. Yours and one other company I can’t bring myself to throw. I know you’ve demonstrated it I just can’t bring myself to do it. Frankly anything over $150 I’ll still carry and use but not throw.
