i never been a ford guy myself but i bought a 2008 e-350 extended van and it has the 5.4 motor gas and it has 201k miles on her i intalled a tow bar for 12k lbs and have towed a trailer 2k miles that was double axel 7800s lb ish and i put 411 in the rear and that thing has never had a problem but i did put a new rad on it like 50k miles ago cause it was funky in there still turn key but i do oil change very 3-5k miles

Kind of a expensive upgrade for the 5.4 is a cam phaser delete. I think it is about $1200 now, not sure. Or just have the timing guides and chain replaced every 90k miles if you want to keep on the maintenance. The plastic timing guides let go. They are great engines, just need a bit more love then others. 👍

If that truck has the 5.4 triton that motor is a piece crap. And I'm a Ford man but you couldn't give me one of those

Yes 5.4 3v. I get what you are saying, but it's not entirely bad. I bought the truck at 94k miles and put on 100k miles. I didn't take the best care of it as well, tried to change the oil every 5k miles, went past that most times. Only changed the oil and tires, lack of maintenance definitely. Pretty impressive though that it is running and moving at all. I certainly got my worth out of it for over 6 years.

@@danielpadgett2831 oh it's done🤣 scrap yard it is. I knew it was going to blow over a year now. But it was a good truck, on to my next one now. I wouldn't mind replacing the motor, but there was much more that would need replacing soon it would just be more of a liability. Just thought I would share u know, how is it running? I don't get how it still runs. But the 5.4 does require more maintenance than I was willing to give it. Bad on my part, the way vehicles depreciate in the rust belt, it's not worth it. Just drive it until you can't and buy something else.

@@TheGuyOutdoors1 that's ok you did what you could do and like you said on to the next one. I got 1995 f150 with the 5.0 with 336,700 miles on the original motor and transmission so far hopefully I can keep it going

Thanks Joe, I am not trying to bash on the micro crawlers. Completely agree with you, certainly enjoy the micro Crawlers, guess it's more difficult when going it alone as most things in life. Take care

Thats exactly why I don't enjoy smaller scale vehicles. Or too light of a larger rc when lil things kick your butt or tip it over 🤔

Ya, I mean I do enjoy the hobby. I'm just kind of over it for now, getting to frustrated with it. Also it's difficult to make content with when I don't have the funds to always buy new parts or RC's. And being the only one in my area with no where around to go to a indoor course or outdoor. I don't know, not for me for creating content around. Sorry to disappoint.

I know it's frustrating, but there are things that could really help that little thing and you'd end up having a lot more fun. I know it seems counter productive, but removing the springs from those shocks so it can sit bottomed out lowers the center of gravity and helps with rollovers. They are very capable, and they can handle that sort of terrain. That's actually my favorite sorts of things to do with my 24's.

Sorry to disappoint. I've lost interest in the tiny scale RC, no one around does this hobby. Just not for me, I've rather make different content then invest more into something that is just frustrating. There's thousands of other RC content creators, and my stuff is crap really. Going to try something else that I can enjoy more. ✌️

If you compair the size of the rig to what you are asking it to crawl they are massive boulders, and the leaves are just annoying use a leaf blower to remove them from your crawler course
@TheGuyOutdoors1

Sorry Dan, I appreciate you. These size crawlers are not it in the area I live. In real life the rocks are not that big, just zoomed in on camera. Also that little sprout by one rock, shouldn't have gotten hung up on that. Granted they are tiny crawlers and the course it's on is outdoors, it's still a tiny planned course. I don't know, this scale is too frustrating for me, just kinda over it. Maybe go back to RC in the future but as a single parent, RC is the last on my list currently. And the interest in spending a lot of money into something that doesn't really perform in my area outdoors, just frustrating. Take care

@joseywilds3133 I get what you are saying, if it was low it would drag on everything in the outdoor course. Could probably be wider sure, but I would rather let my kid bash it around then sink more money into a hobby that is frustrating for me. Even more frustrating because it's only me and no one around has tiny crawlers. The rocks in the video are small rocks, smallest in my area. I could go out and waste a bunch of money upgrading and buying a Course but I don't see the point when there's thousands of KZbin videos on RC where someone's done it. Not trying to bash on tiny crawlers, if I do get back into RC it would be with 1/10 scale. The miny scene isn't for me, too frustrating. Going to try another way to make content for KZbin.
