Thanks so much Nathaniel! I actually only had one video camera at the time and had to shoot this one myself--it was the 6D mark ii :). I just upgraded to the R5 this year though!

Hey! Thanks for the kind words Tony! That was actually my biggest issue with this camera. The 6D mark II is actually quite soft whenever it comes to video, even when in focus! Some people like it, some need something sharper. I ended up upgrading to the R5 beginning of this year!

The canon R might be comparable :)

Hi!! Thanks for reaching out! I think I’d say it depends on your budget and what you’d like to do. I feel like the biggest thing for me was that the footage comes out looking really soft and sometimes blurry. For photos, it’s still a more than capable camera. If you’re looking for sharper images, considering the R series might be your best bet! Or Sony 👀

Hi!! OMGOSH wow thank you for your kind words! I struggle a lot with my WB still, but I'm finding the Canon colours and the picture profiles in the 6DII are beautiful already! You'll keep doing a lot with yours I'm sure :). I still haven't upgraded yet!

Haha you are too kind! I haven’t been shooting all that much since the pandemic here! It’s a great camera! I’d say the video quality is a bit softer than some might like it. In terms of your choices for glass, it depends on your budget! A 24-70 2.8 is a pretty beast lens and covers a wide range of focal lengths. But it’s still $$. I’ve invested in some sigma lenses which are great for the buck, and perform even better in my opinion 🤣.

You don’t need a lot to start out with! I’ve seen a lot of videos solely using this one lens. A great affordable option is the Canon 50mm 1.8, or if you can get the 1.4! I also really like the sigma 24mm 1.4 + another tighter lens option. I’m hoping to get the 70-200 2.8 some day!

@@TiffanyHo I have been eyeing the Sigma 16mm and 30mm F1.4 but ran across a video that confused me.. talking about distortion.

@@ronfoy9618 hmm I don’t have experience using those lenses! But I’d say anything wider than a 35mm you’d expect to see some kind of distortion near the corners! But I don’t find it’s too much of an issue if your subject is centred for the most part

And I didn’t have much gear at the time. I’m still learning but I would say shoot as much as you can from the heart & what you’d like to remember, and that will really show!

Hey! Thanks for reaching out. That’s awesome! All the best with your first wedding! I try to always carry about 4 batteries with me-even though I rarely go through 3 full batteries during a 12 hour day-because I was using my Ronin S and I’ve had my camera for a few years now, the battery life is definitely shorter, but still really impressive! The gimbal drains the battery fast, but on its own, they last for a while if you have your camera off at times. Having 3 batteries should be enough!

Also forgot to mention it depends how long the wedding is! I’ve worked 12-16 hours even and was completely fine! Worst case is you bring a charger with you & a spare battery!
