FYI. 1. There are at least two submodels of this Model 1814E-B dual action orbital washer. They are not the same. Do a KZbin search for "Teardown: which Bauer DA polisher from Harbor Freight is better?" to see the difference. 2. Many owners note that the bearing grease used to assemble this model is of poor quality. It is suggested that the first thing new owners do with their new Harbor Freight polisher is to change out the grease. Do a KZbin search for "Harbor Freight polisher upgrade" for how-to instructions. 3. Many owners choose to replace the 6" backing plate with a 5" backing plate in order to reduce vibration, improve torque, cooler operation, and for better handling in small or curved surface areas. When purchasing a new backing plate, make sure that you order one with the correct thread size (5/16 in- 24 UNF).

I know that you may use this box in one spot but I’m an aviation mechanic and I was wondering if you think the casters would be good for moving around. I have intermediate snap on box and am looking to get a bigger box do to how many tools I’ve accumulated. Has this box provided sufficient space for all your tools? Also is the stainless top worth the money?

Awesome video. I have been looking at the Icon 72" box for a while now. I'm also looking at the US general box. I want the Icon but its hard to justify this box for a non-professional homeowner. But if I go US General, will I have buyers remorse? Oh what to do!!! Either way both boxes are more than I need.

I am 6’1 working at a peterbilt dealership. Currently have a husky box but looking to upgrade. Saw Snap on epiq 68 with stainless steel top on the tool truck but it is expensive. So I’m also gonna go for the icon with the top. Jump multiple bays in a day so can’t really do the wheel chokes under but this is a very cool and inexpensive idea if you have your box up against the wall👍

Damn you made me laugh with some of your expressions. I just got this But am having buyer’s remorse cause the New extended Inside fuel ratchet is the one I intended to get. Trying to justify, that’s some +$500 for the both. How bout you get the other one and do the thumbs up review so’s I can claim Hurdmaines influence syndrome.

My concern is: Icon hasn't been around very long. Will they hold up in 15 years of heavy use? I see alot of " I should have bought Snap On" videos.

It's a sheet metal box that's fully painted inside and out. The metal is thick, the drawers have extra support on bottom that spans the drawer. Some drawers have two reinforcements on bottom. Many drawers have double slides. The reputation of the company has little to do with the quality of the box. Go to a store and inspect the box inside and out for yourself. Pull a drawer out and check out the frame and internal construction. Feel underneath the drawers. Boxes are simple so its a lot easier to judge quality than judging something complex like a car. This box is good. I've got a Snap-on box and the large icon with ss top, hutch, and two side lockers. The icon is better. The Snap-on drawers have a smoother roll-out which is the only thing I would say is better, but the ICON drawer slides are beefier so that might explain the difference. The snap-on (heritage series) drawers do not have reinforcements like the ICON. Also check the product weights. These boxes are heavy. They aren't filled with sand, so heavy means you are getting the metal you are paying for. A box with half as thick steel all around will look identical but weigh half as much. That alone tells you the quality of this box is 2x the quality of some others (Milwaukee and big box store stuff). So it might look expensive when compared to similar sized boxes of half the weight, but those boxes are half the box. When you judge it against others in the same weight class then it's much cheaper and has the same quality feel as the good stuff like the Mac.

Yeah the short-stroke 3/32" sanders were sold as 'finishing sanders' awhile there and I bought one. Then the 3M guys told me recently that the Trizact 1500 / 2000 / 3000 etc were specially designed for the 3/16" stroke. I was bummed. So don't get the wrong sander on your clear your normal D/A is fine if you use Trizact.

Those OEM plastic noses most always have lows and droop in them but yours even in primer looks stiff. How did you do that did you 'glass the inside or something to firm it up ??

Just got this ratchet… it’s fast no doubt. But it has not torque. This thing can barely do 15 ft lbs. It’s slowing me down having to manually use it on everything. Imagine breaking a bolt or nut loose…and it still won’t turn it because it’s rusty. I was just watching the ryobi videos and the extended reach went up to 65 ft lbs! That huge battery though, do t know how much it would limit access. 🤔 . Really disappointed with the Milwaukee one though.

Love the drawer layout, not thrilled about the fact it's HF. Reviewers of this cart have noticed the frames not square and wobbles among other complaints. I'm very tempted to just copy the layout and make my own service cart. QC on HF products tends to be horrible (thus the nickname horrible freight).

I don’t have any issues with this one. I’ve drug it through the gravel onto the carport fully loaded several times without any issues structurally. It’s a beast of a cart.

There will always be outliers that escape quality control.. I've seen the same with Snap-On products.. HF tools are QC'd in California..

Th key locks the lid. The drawers lock from a lever in the top compartment.

Good thought. Mac tools quit making the 25” deep that I have. Same deal, would they have the 26” slides and drawers if I needed them, probably not.
