The 190 seems to be sitting a bit too high? I don't think a 109 could have passed cleanly under it's wing. Perhaps it's just the perspective in the shot. Yes the 190 was 'chunkier', but the short nosed version was the same length as the 109. Anyway, they look like good kits and you've done a great job of the build. Any plans to build their Spitfire? I'm hearing that it's based on the Trumpeter 1:24 kit, so a bit inaccurate - be good to get an opinion on it.

If you are after exterior only with enough interior detail to show open hatches get the RFM one. If you want a highly detailed full interior Puma that takes a lot of time go Miniart. RFM plastic is a lot stronger.

I just lined them all up by eye. Don’t over think it. Just find a point to line them all up with the hull and stick to it. Just depends on how low or high you want it sitting. But having the wheel join half aligned with the hull and half exposed is usually the best bet.

It's looking great Jonathon!👍👍 Regarding partial interiors, etc., there was a time when one of the main aftermarket companies was Verlinden, and they used to offer what they called "Through the hatch" aftermarket kits. The kits used a combination of resin & photo-etch to add interior parts where they were needed most. So the model had all the realism necessary if the hatches were left open, but it didn't involve a ton of work on stuff that could never be seen without removing the turret and/or parts of the hull. That is exactly what I would like to see from the kit manufacturers, especially on vehicles & AFVs which have large hatches. If RFM had added more the the turret, then IMHO, it would have struck the perfect balance between ease of build & detail (especially, as you said, for those who build dioramas). I see nothing wrong with Mini Art's approach, and it sounds like their Puma was designed with the same philosophy as Takom's "Blitz" kits...something closer to a 'weekend build' perhaps? I just wish that Mini Art would offer transparent hulls & turrets, so that their magnificent interiors could be seen!
@Jonhistorymodel
@Jonhistorymodel 3 ай бұрын
Yes I’m getting there. I agree with what you said. Yes it’s that half interior where necessary that’s the gap that Miniarts anticipated Puma will fill. I do find those super full interior kits great and very challenging, but I always find them a little restrictive when thinking of it in a diorama with figures and such.
@Jonhistorymodel

And yes that turret is a disappointment. It’s literally like they got to the turret interior and head office rang up, can it, we want it on market before Miniart, Miniart is killing it and we need to get the impatient market.
