Oh I’m so happy to see all these colors sampled! I have only tried a few of their colors, but from those I love this brand- but I also love painting with opaque and semi-opaque colors, and I love special colors that are pre-mixed. I read that Old Holland makes their watercolors in the tradition of East Asian watercolors, maybe because of Europe’s love of Chinoiserie at the time? I think Shin Han watercolors are a nice affordable alternative for anyone else who likes Old Holland, and Holbein is similar as well which I see someone has mentioned. Thank you for another lovely video!

Too bad manufacturers don't all name the PR101 paints here Red Oxide or transparent red oxide. Doing so would make it easier to identify the differences between using it and Pb7 even better, not just that it's more orangish but also transparent. That aside they are both great pigments!
@WatercolorElisabetta4 күн бұрын
I need to look closer to this topic…thank you for the idea!! I’m currently using a Red Iron Oxide which is absolutely gorgeous from Rembrandt and it is perfect for skin tone. A game changer!

Or you could paint a Chanukah card without feeling the need to add Christian symbols to it. Chanukah can and should exist on its own, without needing to add Christmas to make it more palatable to non-Jews. There are endless ways to make inclusive holiday cards that don't involve disrespecting Jewish symbols by covering them up with Christian ones. Extinguishing some lights of the Chanukiah with a Santa hat does not read as "respect for Jewish customs."
@WatercolorElisabetta5 күн бұрын
Dear Mickayla, I’m very sorry this card hurt your feelings. To be honest, this is drawn from my own experience: my mother was Catholic, and my father Jewish. We kept a bit of both traditions. I am really attached to my Jewish roots, and never in my life I would try to diminish Jewish customs. It’s just what happened in my home, and maybe in many other interfaith families. I’m afraid you totally misunderstood the objective of this card. If you are interested in, I invite you to visit my Instagram account, where you can see how important is for me my Jewish heritage, especially after October 7. I hope this will soften your feelings!

Instead of adding another PBr7 Burnt Sienna I will definitely try to find a tube of the PR101 again when I run out of the pan.

Odd my cadmium yellow deep looks like gamboge, too orange… and the Quin Lake is a purple. 😟 disappointing for a test set … was hoping for a yellow yellow and a red. Wow I’m really impressed with the pigmentation of the student grade. I love listening to people who have English as their second language. I’m aware how difficult it is to learn. You use quite high vocabulary words at times that I know a lot of native English speaking people struggle with. I was taught that of the 5 levels of English I should ensure I use a level 2 when speaking with general public in a medical setting and so I know how much of the population struggles with syntax here. I love that I can watch your channel because of all your hard work to learn English even though you are so far away from me.

So glad to see this review andthanks for the beautiful cherries. I appreciate that you always paint something inaddition to swatching. I am so tempted that retro palette! But I already have some of the colours. I would totallybuy it if they sold it empty. You know those cute Schmincken bijoux tins are made by FOME in Italy? I wonder if you can find them as empty palettes over there. I loved the yellow -its like a bit of sunshine on paper. The cochineal is nice, but cannot justify getting it. I already have a halfpan of genuine cochineal by Wallaceand Seymour, but it looks much paler and soft. It's part of their historical collection. I got some Malachite from them too. I wonder what makes them so different?😮;thanks Elisabetta (and @momarte for sending you the tin)

Can you please swatch all the winsor and newton colours with PR179? If the permanent alizarin crimson new formula is very similar to perylene maroon which was also PR179, I think I will change to fugitive alizarin crimson rather than have two similar colours.
