I use Phthalo Blue green shade for my botanical paintings. Mixed with yellows, it gives lovely greens. Mixed with permanent rose, the purple-ish colors look natural for flowers.

Hi Elisabetta. Been off KZbin for awhile but caught your video and enjoyed seeing your Phthalo colors. Phthalo blue is such a highly staining color but it is a good mixer. Ciao !

I love the luminous Phthalos blues! Thank you for deep diving - I‘ve got some of them from A. Gallo and some from Roman Szmal and think they are beautiful but not very popular because many people say they are too dominant. I love your summer beach picture and also can’t wait for some nicer weather here in the South of Germany… 🎨❤☀️

I would love to see a mixing video. I almost didn’t put pthalo on my new palette because I don’t reach for it. But I think it’s just me since everyone raves about them. I don’t tend to paint tropical though.

Thank you Lily. I also use PB15 for sky or portrait backgrounds but as you said, they are at their best when mixed. Thank you!

Believe it or not, I was wondering & thought you must be very busy. You've been missed. Now, if you can convince me to appreciate Phthalo colors....that would be great! I have a little aversion to them from oil painting days. xoxo

Not a fan of Phthalo Green blue shade except with quinacridone magenta it makes great violets. The PB 17 Peacock Blue was a favorite but I understand the pigment is discontinued.

By the way, have you got a recommendation for an art supply store in Turin? I‘m going to stay there for some days and love to visit the art supplies and maybe buy some special products…

Hi! The art supply stores in Turin are small and very traditional. I always go to a store named Garignani in via Vanchiglia. The owner is an adorable lady who always gives treats to my dogs! It’s small but well furnished.

Da Vinci's Seaglass is a mixture of PG7 and PB15:4, which I've never seen anywhere else. Do you know anything about that version of phthalo blue and what color it is? The mixed paint itself is a very bright, light and summery turquoise
@WatercolorElisabetta
@WatercolorElisabetta 15 күн бұрын
Hi!! From my researches, PB 15:4 should be even darker and greener than PB 15:3. Stay tuned! I will do more Phthalo videos!! I wish I had that SEAGLASS …

@@WatercolorElisabetta I wasn't going to buy it, I got it for free during a sale. It's gorgeous and makes me dream of a vacation, but I still haven't actually used it. Mostly because I very rarely use phthalo blues

That was a very helpful comparison, thank you! Which phthalo blue did you use for the sky? It looks warmer than green shade but it's hard to tell on the screen. BTW, Is PB15:6 always darker and warmer than PB15:1 or is it just these particular brands?

@@WatercolorElisabetta Thank you. And the sky in your sketch? Was it pure PB15:3 or did you mixed it with some red? I never use it for skies because it seems so green to me but your sky looks much more natural and warmer than the PB15:3 I know
@WatercolorElisabetta
