Great video! I’ve got 120 of the new clanrats to paint this winter, looking forward to using the speed paints as they look very satisfying to use. Thanks for the tutorial

Wonderful! They can be very fun to use. Let me know how it goes. I would love to see how they turn out.

I find the stock lids to be a bit annoying , mainly the way when you close them there is that big blob of lost paint that comes out that you have to wipe off. However, not annoying enough to change them all out. They should just let people choose when they are ordering.
@RabidHobbies12 күн бұрын
That would be fantastic. Especially considering they sell the alternative lids.

This is such a relief, I’m getting my first resin kit soon (3d printed, but let’s not split hairs) and I’ve been nervous about screwing up with it. Your video is such a great help! Mind if I ask, what model of Godhand nippers you use?

Congratulations on your first resin model! The Godhand that I use is the SWN-125

Try opening your bottles before shaking in case the barometric pressure has dropped since you last used them.

Worth a try. I have my Rogue Hobbies bottles to try this with.

Thx for the video , I've changed all the lids of my pro acryl colors. Is there any chance to get the original pro acryl bottles or similiar ones from a chinese seller like ali express? I want to transfer my other paint ranges to these bottles (200+) because they have the perfect size/capacity. Here in Europe the original empty bottles are always sold out and the price of it is actually the biggest scam I've ever seen. Right know Im using the 35ml Vallejo bottles but they also increased in price to 1,30 per bottle.
@RabidHobbies2 ай бұрын
I'm sure you can get them. Probably the exact same bottles. I'll see if I can find some.
@Coffeeandpaintwater2 ай бұрын
Awesome tip, definitely have hated the lids so much I tend to just unscrew them and take the paint straight from the bottle. I’ll look out for these instead, though Australia is damn hard to get stuff to haha

The pain is real! These paints are so good but the lids are such shit. Hope they work out for you. I am loving them.

Best = Warcolours Worst = Citadel Btw, do you know the dimensions of the Vallejo or Army painter lids? I’m wondering if I can replace those with the ones you got. Great video!
@RabidHobbies3 ай бұрын
I'll see what I can find out. Might need a whole bottle replacement. If there are flip tops for that size I'll let you know.
@RabidHobbies3 ай бұрын
From what I can find it looks like you would need to replace the bottle. =( not ideal but I did it with my citadel paints. I got tiny plastic funnels from amazon and rebottled them. There is some paint loss this way though.

Thanks for such a simple and working idea. I have ordered recently entire range of pro acryl paints. I was a bit worried because of lids, but buying them from monument hobbies were too expensive. I had no idea if there are replacements like this.

Glad it was helpful! I was about to buy and they were sold out. BTW I am loving these new lids. I am getting another batch as I ordered the Rogue Hobbies set and I want to re-lid those right away Planning on posting a review of that set soon.

Personally, even though I like black painting schemes, I don't feel they look great on a table top. Or frankly, even sitting on your finished projects shelf they tend to look a bit like a black mass. So this is cool. She does look a wee bit like Deadpool tho! Around 6:45 you put some yellow for highlighting on the pallette but you never seem to use it, didn't you or did you just leave that out of the video?
@RabidHobbies4 ай бұрын
I did use it. It's subtle and you are right that I cut the part with the mix out. When I am highlighting the red it is about a 1:4 mix with the Bold Pyrole Red.
@RabidHobbies4 ай бұрын
I 100% agree on the black too. Another pitfall is it can too easily end up gray in the highlighting step. I think black looks great in artwork, video games, etc. but on the tabletop it often does not.
@benderxx13384 ай бұрын
she does look like deadpool. I kinda thought that was the intention?
@RabidHobbies4 ай бұрын
@benderxx1338 I kind of started just painting red for the bodysuit without giving it too much thought. I had decided on an urban camo for my Vindicare, an icy snow theme for my Culexus, and the Callidus i figured coupd be any color because she can just shift her form, so who cares what color the bodysuit is, i can just go rule of cool. Then I thought Deadpool and it became all I could see. By the time I moved on to the hair, I said f*** it. She is Lady Deadpool now. 😅

You stabilize finger on finger instead of palm on palm, interesting
@RabidHobbies4 ай бұрын
I think most of us self-taught painters have a different way of doing it. For me, most of my shaking is in my digits. I am also usually elbows down on my work surface.
@RabidHobbies4 ай бұрын
This is a cool ass comment. You just got me thinking more about it and now I am looking at other painter's hand placement. I notice Vince Venturella uses palm to palm. Squidmar and Lucas seem to use finger on finger. Ninjon and Miniac seem to be finger to thumb. Marco Frisoni barely seems to stabilize at all. I'm not conviced he is human. O.o Like his hands are both separated in his recent videos. This will now be something I cannot unsee and need to look into more. I assume you prefer palm to palm?
