To be fair, back when Reynor used to always make comebacks Zerg was pretty overpowered. I don't think it's a confidence issue in his play. The race is just more balanced now.

I was so happy to see Game 1. I've been waiting for a Zerg to figure it out, and of course it was Serral. The only way to counter the Tempest range is with range. And the only unit that has that kind of "free range" is the brood lord. Yes, brood lords only shoot down, so right away you are at a disadvantage. But at least you have a chance now. Come over terrain like ledges and don't stray far from a fortress made out of spores. That way if the Tempests come your corruptors can deal with them. Meanwhile, infestor/lurker/crackling is a good mix on the ground for Serral. I do sometimes wish Serral would make just a few more spine/spore, but I guess he's afraid of the recall's power to wipe away static D where his army is not. Yes Pig, I've been arguing for years what you said about controlling the center, especially late games. Tempests and Broodlords move so slowly, you have to control the center to be able to interdict enemy movement and siege up bases when the enemy shows an opening. Still, Protoss clearly has an advantage in supply cap efficiency. There is just no way to make up for units that only shoot at ground or air like ultras and brood lords and corruptors. Tempests, storm, stalkers, archons all shoot both. And of course the mobile recall of the Mothership is a ridiculous late game advantage. Nydus is just so costly to have an inferior function.

Maybe I don't understand but seems to me a couple spores in the constantly dropped bases would be much cheaper than replacing 14 drones over and over. I know players at this level are good enough to defend, usually. But FFS 2 spores on each side would of completely ended the drops that ultimately won the game. Corruptors would also work, but they tend to get pulled out of position by someone like Clem. Also spores don't take up army supply... just sayin.

I would argue that zerg requires the highest level of play, overall has the highest apm, and, if you took serral out of the pool, you would see that the rest of the zerg pros barely squeeze one into the bottom of the top 10.

TvZ is my favorite to watch; except for Clem games. I generally don't bother even watch them because it's just frustrating and boring in the end.

Will say that point about base layout around 13:00 makes a lot of sense. amygdala, in particular, feels like an amazing base layout for toss. Like if kings cove/neon werent in the pool it would be auto veto for zerg

As someone who speaks Chinese I just got to say this because it has been bugging me for a while. 琉 Liu is pronounced kind of like the name "Leo" but with a "u" at the end, not "Lu" like you say it. So its "Leu Li". Both Liu and Li also are pronounced with the second tone (a rising tone) but that might be overkill :)

zerg has been reduced to simple punching bag...i feel pitty for the players still playing it and not being able to voice oppinion of the issues they face. zerg is not active race anymore, but just trying to guess (as cannot observe) what the other player does and hope they can hold on the waves of attacks. very sad game these days.
