Is there any way you could send the specs for that adapter piece you made for the pilot bearing? I’m currently ls swapping my wrx right now and would love to have that adapter piece to use.

Thanks for the update. I used your videos as a guide to LS swap my 2004 wrx sedan. I absolutely love it. I had better luck with the oil pan as I used a 5.3 out of a SS trailblazer and it had a front sum oil pan. Looking forward to seeing the turbo

Had to skip to the end to see what happened. I'll check out the rest, but I JUST GOTTA KNOW HOW THE TRANNY HOLDS UP! Is there a Subie 6mt in there, what's the scoop?!?
@mrhootyhoo7 ай бұрын
I've been asking people how their Subaru 5MT LS swaps have held up. I haven't gotten through the rest of the videos yet on here, but.... I'm hoping to see a 5mt be able to coexist with an LS without getting prematurely.... discombobulated. I'm trying to decide what to put into the Baja. Definitely want to stay manual and "Subaru" AWD. Can't decide on an LS, orEZ30D.... I like to think about the EZ36 but I don't know even a Subaru 6MT would hold up. If you can share of any driving / maintenance experience with a manual Subaru transmission spun by an LS, I'd appreciate it.

It has, I need make and update video. Things are working good
@mrhootyhoo7 ай бұрын
Yeah I'd like to see. Thinking about what I want to do with the Baja when the headgaskets finally let go. Etiher drop in a bench rebuilt with some multilayer steel headgaskets, drop in an EZ30D from an LL Bean, perhaps, orrrr go full out LS, but this is the first LS to 5MT conversion I've seen, so I'd definitely like to see a follow-up! @@highcalaber
@highcalaber7 ай бұрын
The 5MT is just for mock up. It has an STI 6 speed in the car. LS would be crazy in a Baja
@mrhootyhoo7 ай бұрын
@@highcalaber ahhh, that makes much more sense. I wondered how that poor 5mt was holding up hah. Either way, LS or EZ30D (I think I'd rather the LS lol) I figure I'd have to bring over an FXT ECU, and the 6MT TCU, live out my worst wiring nightmare for a week or two, and life might be alright afterwards. DEFINITELY would like to see a 6mt followup if that's the case. Anywho cool beans man

did you have to use an ls4? how much space does it save?
@highcalaber8 ай бұрын
Yes, I had an issue with the timing cover I went over this in a video. I was able to use the LS4 water manifold to save a lot of space. The LS4 crank pulley was also pretty much the only pulley that I could use. But other than that it's not much different than any other LS aside from the bolt pattern, but I wasn't using a transmission that had a compatible pattern anyways.

super rad dude, my wife and i just watched the whole series, were considering putting an ls3 in our 06 wrx limited. I have questions about the terminator system you used for the ls engine management. Also i assume you deleted the air conditioning and just run the heater ? Awesome build though, good job !
@highcalaber9 ай бұрын
The Terminator is great, only problem was the timing cover which I mentioned in one of my videos. It didn't have ac before I did the swap no plans to add it, not such a big deal in the great white north

How come you dont just move the transmission and transfercase back several inches and get new front and rear driveshafts? Wouldnt that have made the whole swap easier, considering the engine wouldnt essentially be hanging out the front of the car? Amazing work by the way, dream build.
@highcalaber Жыл бұрын
There is no transfer case, the front differential is part of the transmission. I could've moved it back, it may have been a good choice.
