Hi and thanks for the helpful vid. For anyone finding this one now, like me, the basic info on parametric masks is still valid but a lot has changed with DT in the last year.

Great video, i am new to editing and have just downloaded darktable 4.8. This video helps explain what the different modules actually do. You have any more similar ones? What is sigmoid and is it something worth learning to use

I agree with these guys in 8:24 There was definitely something weird going on with the sound, some sort of crackling. Happy to see you fixed it in this video. @antonvoloshin98336 ай бұрын
Honestly, after fiddling with DT for couple of year I came to a conclusion - the simpler the better. Al this very finicky tools like Color calibration or filmic rgb are very fascinating from pure technical standpoint, in the end of the day what matters is what gives you good and predictable result, so I ended up with White balance for white balancing and Base curve as a tone mapping tool.
@m.rafidrizqullah74546 ай бұрын
Wait, my white balance slider didn't have a color in it, any clue or solution?
@DylanLiveLifeCreative6 ай бұрын
Your white balance slider with still function the same as in the video. Getting a visual of the color on the white balance slider itself is a setting you can change in darktable

"Full time manual-focus" feature was a relatively recent thing, not the norm, if you live long enough.

Kudos to you for admitting your mistake. the cc module is both very complex and very powerful. It's well worth the time spent getting familiar with it. It also replaces the old channel mixer and the grey tab does a fabulous monochrome conversion. However, I agree that new, inexperienced users may well be more comfortable with the wb module. Thanks for taking time to make the video.

DaVinci Resolve, the video editing software I use, has controls to flip your video recording in different ways, like rotating it upside down

The Ch are quite good at cloning, ok. It's what sets them apart - Mark Bennet rates the quality of the Yongnuo 85 f/1.8 as perhaps "the best kept secret" in the photography world. Yep! It beats high-enders like Nikkor & Sony 85 mm f/1.8, and at less than half those price tags. The Ch say - this is a special service they provide for ordinary folks out there - accessibility! others of course call it theft. Interesting. great presentation & tks! for sharing. Ps: the motor mechanism on my newly arrived Y 35mm f/2 only lasted for a couple of shoots; unfortunately, and quite disappointing! but manual focus makes up for this disaster; Seems the Ch have since upped the cloning game? mmm?

Hi there. I have a question because im working with Darktable too. I want to give my photots a dark moody tone. So glad you solved the lens hood problem. I had that same issue. Even though I do not use the lens a lot, I do like to have lens hoods for all my gear. The guy I bought it from gave me one that screws in and told me, there are no proper lens hoods for this lens.

My darktable never looks like anyone else's. None of those sliders are in color. There's no color brightness saturation tool in mine. I'm on the newest version but it's been the same every time I've ever tried to learn about it.
