Made me laugh out loud… wonderful to have all these movies of your mum…. My mum died from COVID and there were some videos of her appearing on TV shows like 15 to one but it all got thrown out…. Still she lives on in my memories….

So interesting to learn that I'm not the only person who's "not terribly keen on Van Gogh." His work is so overwhelmingly lauded, I thought there was something wrong with me. Honeysett's candor is refreshing. She and I agree about Vermeer's bricks.

This story is unbelievably great. Imagine, being human. I empathize with her and envy her at the same time. She was so strong that her will was practically unbreakable. The entire universe was pitted against her, most people would simply choose another path in life. But no, she was extraordinarily divine. Her skill itself is a genuine article, not the product of people who laid groundwork for her. Unlike most people today who simply walk in old shadows of greatness and pretend that their over-inflated ego is why they are what they are. It breaks my heart, it even shakes my faith in humanity that she isn't held to a much higher esteem. I hope that more people learn of her name, her works, and her struggles. I will in fact tell everybody I know about this story even if it takes the rest of my life. I can't get over one of my side youtube accounts having more views for some crummy piano arrangement than her sons fb content combined, let alone the pbs documentary. I can't exactly see the statistics of viewers for the airing, nor the viewers of the passport streaming. But judging from the lack of attention and VERY few views here on youtube among several youtubers attempting to share this content-- It is clear to me that Mary is not getting the attention she deserves. We're not talking about some 12 year old who is overexagerated for being young and somewhat skilled. She is legendary. If someone is reading this that has influence, please take this to heart and expose her. She is dead now, she can't steal your fame, she can't even tell you not to share her name. Please for all that is good in this world expose her. She needs to be in history books, her story needs more elaboration, someone needs to professionally interview her descendants. Her life is over, but I believe her journey has only begun. That she has the capacity to touch trillions of people over time if not more. I've lived my entire life watching the truth of this world get washed away. Please don't let such a beautiful story and artist be washed away too.

Thank you so much for your message. I agree wholeheartedly that my mother was quite a remarkable woman in many ways. I'm doing my best to get her name and art out there to the world and any help in that respect is very much appreciated. Thank you again!

14:42 about how male painters typically have more freedom to paint than women…. Thankfully, this is changing but even now, I (57)certainly have the struggle still of balancing my home “duties” (raising my son, keeping the house stocked and clean) with eking out studio time. My solution is that I spend most nights out in my backyard studio, blasting music, painting and drawing. The one big drawback is that my brain gets so activated by my observations that I generally have a tough time finally falling asleep once I’ve shut the studio for the night (usually past midnight). I always joke with My husband that “I’m heading out to the strip club” when I walk out to my studio. lol he always knows exactly where to find me…. Obsessing over some composition, filthy apron and smudged cheek. In my bliss, just like MCH
