Thank you very much. I’ve just had this test.. I was diagnosed with bilateral vestibular loss.. cause unknown. Results were Gain-absent Phase-not recorded due to low gain Asymmetry-not recorded due to low gain. Spectral purity- good 60%. Is bilateral vestibular loss likely to get worse? I was also diagnosed with PPPD & visual vertigo.

Please see the reply from one of our in-house clinicians below: --------------------------------------------------------------- You can use the aided cortical test to assess an individual’s access to speech sounds. As a result this is a test of detection rather than discrimination. If you are looking for an objective measure of speech detection ability then this may be useful. However there are other tests which may be more suited to eliciting information regarding auditory processing for this patient group. --------------------------------------------------------------- Best regards, Shane

What if she had no bppv at the time of testing ? What if her Chrystals reset by the time her vestibular tests were done? Would you still see nystagmus? Do patients have to try to get to the dr while they are having a bppv episode?

Mingraineurs have higher rates of a BPPV and Meneires diagnosis. Disease Could perhaps chronic migraines cause damage to the inner ears?

Hi silpavijay, Thanks for your question ☺ Answer below from one of our Clinical Product Managers: Frequency specific data for infants and newborns can be obtained using frequency specific BERA stimuli, such as the Narrowband CE-Chirp LS. These stimuli are available on the Eclipse and are used in diagnostic BERA testing, including the test frequencies 500 Hz, 1 kHz, 2 kHz and 4 kHz. Alternatively, ASSR can also be used to obtain objective, frequency specific results. --------------------------------- Best regards, Shane
