This song captured Soichiro Yagami perfectly. He wants to capture Kira-but he also carries immense pain knowing his son-or in this case-his daughter could very well be Kira. The song illustrates his inner struggles that was present in both the manga and anime.

The interresting part is that Light didn't even answer L's question, not even with a lie. L's question was "have you ever told the whole truth in your life?" and not "in what situations do you think it is legitimate to lie?". The fact that Light couldn't even answer this final personal question with a lie, but instead avoided it, is sadly probably the last bit of humanity Light had in him.
