i wasn't able to bend the metal posts of the headrest, so i tied a small pillow to the upper part of the seat, now i can sit up straight and not have the headrest push my head forward.

Terrific video, thanks Karen, great job. Do you have a Dremel part number for the thermal fuse you replaced?

Great video Karen. My machine has a six (6) pin connector, not three. Which wires do you think I should connect to create a lid switch bypass? Here's the pin-out for mine: 1 DC Motor #1 (red) 2. DC Motor #2 (black) 3. Lock switch 4. Gnd. 5. Lid Reed Sw. 6. Unlock

My dremel just stopped working and you're the 2nd video I spotted offering an explanation. The other guy said it's the brushes that need replacing. I like you sharing yoru reasoning which spoek to me. I don't want to spend 100 to buy another so I'll take it apart and try out your suggestion to see if it could be the fuse. Like you said- it would've gone to the trash heap anyway so can't hurt to check

Thanks for sharing. I ended up using this method because my headrest was pushing/banging my head so i was always sitting crooked to circumvent the who apparatus. With the posts tweaked just ever so slightly, I now sit muuuuuuuch more consistent with the intended position that the designers wanted. Sure, maybe it's less safe for whatever body dimensions they used in the original design, but sitting completely crooked is waaaaay worse. I'm safer overall because of this.

You hit it out of the park in the first 2 minutes telling me about a potential bracket issue being the problem. I read 5 other “expert’s” opinions and they all missed that and consequently were no help at all. Thanks very much! AAAAA.

Nice video, however what is holding the disposal in place is a little tang right next to the loop. My unit had developed a leak and I did have to dremel off the tangs. Also, the ring washer was also rusted into place so had to destroy the in-sink mount.

Thank you, Karen, for teaching us how to bypass the safety switch. My switch on my GE washer cost $57 to replace which is quite pricey. The information you have provided enables us that cannot afford the overpriced part to be able to use our machine!
