It's the equivalent of me holding my head with my hand when I sleep in front of the TV.

I'm not a pro rider at all but this dude doesn't have skills at all to ride a terrain like that.... neither follow basic rules such as do not go heel side down an Icy slope that steep. Ice axe? Crampons? The worst mistake was to step out from the bindings...the only thing was keeping him on that slope was that snowboard blade..and if you decide to proceed by foot you must have crampons and ice axe. Very lucky and irresponsable, but I hope this will be a good lesson for many people around there.

This guy actually has plot-armor: he broke every rule in the book and had so many “that could’ve been bad” moments that should’ve made him think twice, and, yet, he just kept going for 12 minutes until his luck finally ran out-except it didn’t because he survived. After sliding down the mountain, hitting every damn rock he could, before plummeting off an-at least-150ft cliff, he just picks up his detached gopro, brushes off the snow, and starts talking while filming himself and the where he fell from.

Why he didn’t stand up and take that board off is besides me. It’s literally ice everywhere and you can tell he’s scared and realizes he doesn’t have anywhere near the skill level to tackle this line yet he just says “I don’t want my new friends to think I’m not as awesome as I said I was so let’s just send it and see what happens”. Rule Number 1 When you are out of bounds/back country! YOU NEVER SKI A LINE BLINDLY IF YOU ARE IN CONDITIONS WHERE THERE IS A SHITLOAD OF ICE, and Jagged Sharp Rock Everywhere that if your edge can’t hold and your ass go sliding off a cliff is just stupid. This is a day after an epic storm with 4 feet of powder collected over the last week. It’s literally ice with 5-6 inches of powder here and there, but mostly ice. An easier way to say this rule would be this: In conditions like this, never ski a line you have no clue where it leads and what you could encounter. PERIOD. If there is several feet of powder and you don’t have rock everywhere that will split your body into pieces if you land on it, that’s different. Hell, send it off a 100 foot click and intentionally land on your back. You will be just fine! In this conditions, going off a 10 foot cliff could kill you.
