command remains with Chelsea FD - offduty Chelsea chiefs respond to assist - some outside FD chiefs also respond per the running card - basic tenents of ICS are followed - 1 IC - span of control is 5 to 1 ish

Most reports have this as a 9 alarm fire, but I've heard from people on the scene it went to 10. I'll update in the future as more info comes out.

I can't tell with certainty if she says she is Operator V or Operator Z. She sounds very much like a dispatcher who worked an 8 alarm on Summer Street a decade ago and seems quite capable and confident.

I assume the tape records ALL the fire channels simultaneously and that’s why we’re hearing other radio traffic. I hope those operating at the house fire don’t have to be constantly interrupted by the other radio traffic on the other calls.

They dont, these scanners have all Mecklenburg county channels on them.

Nope, charlotte fire Has one main dispatch channel that calls go out on, and then each call is assigned a tac channel.

One thing to note while listening is that at the time of this fire the entire of the second battalion was out of service for training and there was a box alarm in the district filled by companies that otherwise would not be in the area. Thus the hectic rundown of truck in the beginning.

The fire Department was paid to let those houses burn down. Then they blamed the public claiming they were obstructing fire engines. Any other day they have no problem calling the police and bashing people.
