Wow some insane comments below about Australia lol, probably most don't even live here or have never worked a day in their lives? I fainted about 18 months ago for some unknown reason, all the ambulance from my home town were busy so they had to send one from Laurieton which is about over an hour away. They arrived checked me out then drove me back to Kempsey Hospital another 30 minutes away and then they had to drive all the way back to Laurieton, the hospital did all the checks CT scans, Ex rays, blood tests and all that and gave me a ham sandwich and an orange juice. I was there from 11:30am until 11:30pm and it didn't cost me a cent. Maybe it's because I've worked all my life for the past 40 years paying the Medicare levy of 3% percent of my wages each week and these people haven't I'm not sure? If you work hard in Australia you will be rewarded if you don't then don't blame anyone else, it's as simple as.

The most cursory glance at a map should indicate that Melbourne has squillions of beaches. I mean you can very nearly walk the whole ~100km from Port Melbourne to Portsea on uninterrupted sand. On particularly hot days pretty much the entire eastern side of Port Philip is clogged with bathers. :)

1: Sydney isn’t Australia. It is a city in Australia. 2: There are states in Australia. Each state has its own laws and state taxes other than common federal laws and taxes. 3: Tax isn’t 20% as they people claim. Minimum tax rate is 32%. Plus Medicare. 10% VAT. And things cost more to start with. 4: Urban myth alert. We do not live on beaches. It is not a beach lifestyle. These people are exaggerating. Most of those people on the beach will be on holiday or backpackers. 5: It gets cold. Very cold. And wet. And foggy. We are that big that the weather up north is totally different from that down south. Sorry most of these things said are ‘through the eyes of a tourist type stuff’ and not everyday life. In the South there are not many people going to beaches between April and October. It’s far too windy and cold except for diehards. Same with BBQs.

I have lived here for years and love it . I love the tolerance and open mindedness and the wide streets and of course the food . There are lots of reasonable and tasty places to eat . I do wish we were closer to the rest of the world but hey maybe I will change my mind on that one in a few weeks 😳😰

If you're planning on staying for three years in total, can you complete the six months during the first year or do you need to do two sets of 88 days in year one and two?
@LeeandLozАй бұрын
@@JakeReinert hey Jake, you have to do 88 days regional work within the first year to get your second working holiday visa. You then have to do a further 6 months regional work in your second year to get your third working holiday visa. If you’re from the UK you don’t have to do any regional work anymore to get the 3 years. Hope that helps 😊

Don’t buy fruit, vegetables and meat from the big two supermarkets. Farmers markets and butchers have better quality produce and generally cheaper.

Please tell so many people are telling Australia us good than UK. But I like cold climate. I'm from srilanka. If I go to Melbourne it has red hot summer. Please tell which country us good to earn more money, cold climate, ?? Which country gives facilities or support for woman when I divorce? Compare UK vs Australia?

I’m thinking of leaving the uk from issues related to “diversity” and you’d say this is a plus in Melbourne? What is the crime rate like? Many rape gangs and stabbings?

The other thing is you are a long way from anywhere else, which makes the people rather insular and parochial, particularly outside of the major cities. The culture is rather uniform and you don’t have access to all the culture and history that is accessible in Europe.

I don't know, it must be said that the cost of living and the housing crisis in Australia is hard to bear, but I don't want to say that it's a bad place, just that it's very difficult if you don't have important support
@Keyrose-my3xr2 күн бұрын
The housing crisis is because of mass immigration. Vote that tool Albo out. Saying we need to import skilled labour. My city looks like I stepped off a plane in India and I didn't know we needed skilled labour to work at supermarkets and retail.

The best of aus is that there is no class system and the worst weather is easily better than the best in UK.. the worst is that they have some of the most expensive living in the world, in the middle of knowhere. Aussies have also dropped there culture with the new generations who live on American videos from there phones. The best of the UK is they have retained there culture, there pubs are brilliant and they have a real value on being interesting and funny. The worse is that no one has a house, they all live in terraces, you can't talk politics or religion as they close up, dreadful class focus. Really I would say it comes down to whether you like shit weather or not....
