hey, I am a Japanese citizen currently preparing to apply for the working holiday visa however I was originally a citizen of China before naturalizing as Japanese, so I wonder will my original nationality affect my eligibility for the visa? Because Chinese citizen not allowed to apply Australia working holiday visa, or is it solely based on my current Japanese nationality?

how much would you say you need to earn on a monthly basis after tax to be able to afford rent, utility bills, savings/spending money?
@LeeandLoz Жыл бұрын
This is very hard to answer - because it depends where you would like to live, how much you want to save, how much you want to spend on doing things! But as a rough guide we think you’d spend about $300 a week on rent (give or take), probably around $100 a week on groceries, around $25 a week on phone/gym etc, so that would take you up to about $1800 before saving and spending money. There are tonnes of free things you can do in Australia, walks, beaches etc so you could spend very little if you wanted.

How much money did you guys take with you when you went over
@LeeandLoz Жыл бұрын
We both took about £10,000 each, but we was wanting to buy a campervan quite soon after we got to Australia, so you could bring a lot less!

Hi guys, I have a question regarding the change to visas for Brits from July next year. I’ll be starting my first year visa next month, so I would be applying for my second WHV after July 1st 2024 - do you think I will still need to do the 88 days of approved work between now and then? Thanks for the great content 😊
@AnnClarke-sf4ou Жыл бұрын
Did you ever get an answer to this question
@SJCouzens Жыл бұрын
@@AnnClarke-sf4ou not from the channel, but since being in Australia i have found out that the 88 days of regional work is no longer required to extend the visa

Hi, when applying for the visa, did you have to submit a police certificate? I’ve seen a few websites online saying this is mandatory but others saying it isn’t. Thanks.

Hey Jake, yeah we just screenshotted our bank balance and that was sufficient :)

@@LeeandLoz thank you so much, Did they ask you when you arrived in Australia? Or did you just prove this online via the documents, I really appreciate your help you are keeping me calm haha
@LeeandLoz Жыл бұрын
@@jakewines368 no problem! They didn’t check anything at the airport for us, as the visa is linked to your passport if you go through the electric gates you won’t even speak to anyone! Of course we can’t guarantee they won’t check/ask for any documents but it’s unlikely as you would have already provided them online :)

Do you recon this is doable with £2000
@LeeandLoz Жыл бұрын
Hey! One of the requirements for the working holiday visa is AUD 5000, which is a little more than £2000. However even aside from that - I would say yes it is doable but flights alone are going to cost you £600 - £1000 most likely, even if we ignore the flights I would say you would need to be employed very quickly after getting to Aus as unfortunately £2000 will soon go after paying for rent, food etc. Our advice if you want to arrive with Aus with that much money would be to at least start looking for a job before you get here, try facebook, and backpacker job board websites. Best of luck!
